Spent thirty days living at Engineer Training Area. I graduated Sapper squad leaders course on May fifth and went back to Bravo Company second platoon. Seven days later I went to Martial arts Instructors course were I earned my brown belt with a tan tab. Once I completed MAI course, I then went to Charlie Company second platoon. Were I assumed the billet of squad leader for second squad and started preparing my marines for Afghanistan.
His family was the most significant one. He came from a family of military leaders that influenced him to get the most out of what he could and seek a career in the military. His mother was a big influence in his life. She always kept a close eye on him in the earlier stages of his life. She cared about him and believed of what he was capable to do in his life so much that even followed him to West Point when he was a cadet, and lived there so she could be close to him.
She had persevered! She thanked the Almighty for his brilliant plan. After two more days of walking, crawling, hiding, and sleeping for just a few hours at a time, she laboriously arrived in George Washington’s camp. Her resolve had brought her to the conclusion of her service. As she entered the camp, she could hear the murmurs, “Who is that?” “What does he have?” “Where is he going?” She compelled herself to find George Washington.
In a war fought by voluntary soldiers, the line between military deserter and war resister can be slim. At the age of 19, Boise native Robin Long enlisted in the United States Army seeking a job with steady pay, medical benefits and a chance to go to college. Two years later, while stationed in a non-deployable unit at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Pfc. Long and a handful of troops from his unit received orders to go to Iraq. Long was given three weeks leave before his report date.
After choosing my job and getting the specifics of my contract, I was married to the military for 3 years. You got it, married to the Army. In this marriage there are choices, but the choices are not always made with the input of the other partner. The other partner is you. This is how the military works even though you always have a choice the consequences of divorce will be devastating to the rest of your life.
McGraw says he's been working on a studio album for over a year now, performing new tracks on tour and hoping to release the new album in the fall. But now he'll have to hold off on that. McGraw tells his fans, "In the spirit of the election year, I would simply say to my fans 'I'm Tim McGraw and I don't approve their message.'" Especially since the album was produced without any communication with him. Greatest Hits 3 contains all of the singer's hits since 1995, including his current single, Let It Go.
Aaron Ludwig Witschonke October 26, 2009 Service Learning Project Operation Care Package Issue: I identified that there are many students whose parents are in the Military. Many of the students have brothers, sisters, and/or parents that have gone off to fight the war. This is a very common theme going on throughout all of the schools since the war has been going on for so long now. For a service learning project, I would love to have the students send care packages to our troops and also write letters to them while they are overseas. I believe that the troops and the students will both benefit from this Service Learning Project.
I overheard a current ALC student, SGT Mitchell Anderson, say it best: “A leader’s job is to leave his legacy in his Soldiers.” I don’t think I could put it any better I have spent many years working for the military. I started back in April of 1998. My first Duty assignment was Korea in October that same year. Back then the military was a lot different. NCO’s had much more power.
Using The Core Values Everyday Many people know the words Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage and what they mean, but how often do we actually live up to them? I learned the Seven Core Army Values through JROTC and ROTC programs and I have noticed that I practically use them everyday. I show loyalty by believing in myself and my fellow cadets here with me in this ROTC program. I will support my leadership and also stand up for the team/cadets. Another way that I show loyalty is by wearing the uniform of the U.S. Army.
Military and Public Safety protect our everyday lives, while Teachers are the ones that give us the knowledge we need for everyday life. Military personnel definitely are the most heroic figure in my eyes. While people are here in American living the good life, we have soldiers fighting for our freedom, putting their lives on the line. Having two years in the National Guard, I have not had a chance yet at deployment. However, at all times I stand ready to accept the fact that I could receive that phone call telling me to pack my bags, I am being deployed.
