Women Without Fathers Jennifer Vega Everest University Online It is very difficult, socially and in an intimate relationship, for women who were not raised with fathers or even positive male role models in their lives. This is the reason why many women end up in violently domestic relationships or in multiple relationships within a short period of time, because they are looking for that particular father or what they perceive a father to be in a man. Many women do not know what it is to have the love of a man, protection, financial stability, and respect because that was not shown to them as children in their home. Therefore, when a man of good morals and values show her these things she does not know how to receive them because she has never received these things from a man before. I am writing my essay from experience because I am a woman who, unfortunately, grew up without a father and after learning of my father’s existence, I then learned he was deceased, so I never received that kind of love. Growing up I have had multiple relationships and intimate encounter looking for what and how I thought a man should be. I have a few friends who were fortunate enough to have their fathers in their lives and our perspectives on many subjects are similar yet different. Our tolerance levels and what we will and will not accept from a man are even different. Many women growing up without fathers or a positive leadership in the home tend to accept a lot of negativity and disrespect from men because they do not know what having that male protections is, they become users and angry with men. Their self-esteem can become low and they began to feel they have no purpose in life. On the contrary, there are many women who strive to be the best they can be, make it on their own and believe a man is not necessary in the home. This is how the cycle begins because the
