If one pursues their dreams and ambitions, he or she can be open to many more of the opportunities this world has to offer. College is the very first step to becoming successful and these days a college education is not something that you should have; it is something that should be essential. That being said, it is nearly impossible to get an excellent paying job without a college degree. I have learned that college is not just a choice; it is the start of a lifelong journey, one that could potentially shape and determine future choices, decisions and purposes. As opposed to generations of the past, high school graduates today are unable to obtain the number of high-paying jobs that were once available.
Why college is important to me When most people think of education, they think of getting to a great college, which is awesome, but I believe there are other ways a good education will help me. Education is important because without one, or with a bad one, or with a bad one, you feel disconnected from the world, and you can’t really live a successful life. With a decent education I can change the world, or at least make a major difference. I am not entirely sure how I can make a difference, but I know a good education will help. I think a good education is imperative because it will influence my life in the future.
College Should Be Free For All Students College too many students mean a higher education that leads to a bright future. Of course, there is challenging work that needs to be fulfilled over a period, in order to meet the expectations of living life in a certain way. However, the hard work put into the dream of attending a university has a possibility of not coming true due to the lack of unfortunate families, competition, and lastly government decision-making. A funded education is needed for every upcoming generation. In addition, a modern country needs highly skilled graduates of all kinds.
Unfortunately, taking a gap year is not for everybody. It takes a lot of self-motivation and a sense of direction in life. College offers structure for those who feel lost. Also, the gap year suits people that want to be business owners, entrepreneurs or those who plan to work at one corporation and just move up the ladder. In order to be a doctor, college is definitely the only option.
The campus tours showed me that an education in our home town or community college is not the only option. The tours help me to think about education outside of the state. This is a real booster shot for me personally since I never considered going out of state for college because of my low income
In conclusion, I believe free community college should be allowed. There are many more reasons supporting this topic, and opposing the topic, but in the essay above are the major points. Free community colleges benefits more than it does harm our society. Giving opportunities, lowering unemployment rate, and helping people save money are all very important topics supporting free community
In the world we live in today. Going to college is no longer a choice, or privilege, but rather a need for a brighter future . So the big question that happens to be going around is, “Is College really worth it?”According to Andrew J. Rotherham’s article “Actually, college is very much worth it.”, “5 Ways Ed Pays”produced by (The College board), and “Why College Isn't (And Shouldn’t have to be) For Everyone” written by Robert Reich. The answer to that question is yes. Though there are many individuals who believe that college is not for everyone, attending college and getting a higher education can open the gates to many tremendous life changing opportunities such as becoming healthier, begin able to secure jobs, and earning more financially.
A Plan for College Success GEN/200 September 17, 2012 A Plan for College Success Life doesn’t always go as planned you should set goals for yourself that are realistic and obtainable. You might have a lot of other responsibilities, but with a flexible work schedule and the support from friends and family, you will succeed. Ziglar (1990) stated, “You cannot tailor make the situations in life, but you can tailor make the attitudes to fit those situations before they arise”. Personal Responsibility Personal responsibility is to have the ability to create a plan and achieve the goals that you have set in place for yourself. Hold yourself responsible, not your parents, for your shortcomings, challenges, and successes.
Like Chris said in his story, “I definitely think that the learning quest that I’m on, will improve the quality of my life, and my future.” I couldn’t agree with this statement any more. I definitely feel that I have a more personal motivation than any other, but like Sara as well, I have a practical one too! I not only want to learn to obtain my degree for myself, and my own personal goals, but also to help me “cope” with the things I may face in my future. In my current state, I am working in a career that is, not only on the brink of extinction, but is not very rewarding for me. By returning to school, I’m focused on learning, in order to restructure, and better my life.
If you don’t get a college education you could miss the opportunity to have a successful career. I have spoken to Chris Bynum and Derik Lochotki on why college is so important. I also asked them what happens if you missed out on college. It is important to get a college education, and it could lead to great benefits in the future. First, in the past people with a high school diploma could get a simple job and live in a decent home.
