Does the word Malaysia ring any bell in your head? Or is it just simply some plain old word that you just find or see or even read in your everyday life? Or is it because you coincidently born in this country, that’s why you know what Malaysia is. If not, you might not even know where Malaysia is situated. Sound so pathetic doesn’t it? But that’s the truth. Frankly speaking, I personally think that Malaysia is actually a very ambiguous term. Most people don’t really know what Malaysia means to them even though they’re Malaysian. Before I go any further, let me tell you people roughly about what Malaysia actually is. Because from my point of view, if you want to know what does a certain particular thing means to you, you need to know it well first. Malaysia is a country that received its independent on 31st August 1957. The first Prime Minister in Malaysia is Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. Malaysia used to be colonized by Britain. This year is Malaysia’s 50th years of independent. Even for only one decade, Malaysia has already developed into a well successful country. And now, I am proud to say that Malaysia is known by all the countries around the world. For the pass 17 years, I can say that the thought of what actually Malaysia means to me never even came across my mind. What does Malaysia means to me? Malaysia is my country. Malaysia is where I live. Malaysia is the place where I grew up. Malaysia is where my parents are. Malaysia is where I learnt my a,b,c. But what actually Malaysia means to me? Is it just a place where I live in? Is it just a place where I can have the reminiscence of my childhood live? Let me put it this way. Even though you might agree with the answer and think that’s the actual answer but for me it’s not. It's a very subjective question, there’s no specific answer.
