Communication is a method of interacting with people in different ways to understand and deliver messages clearly, both sender and receiver must understand the message for it to be effective. In this report I will discuss different methods of communication. Non-verbal communication is the passing of information between people using things such as hand gestures, how people sit, eyes contact and various others. This would be vital in a health and social care setting, for example using eyes contact to help increase successful conversation flow, it would be important in a health setting to have effective conversation flow to increase the amount of help you could give to a patient. Being able to analyse whether a patient is comfortable in your vicinity is also very vital. This is because if a patient is comfortable they are more likely to be honest with you and tell you their entire problem, it is our job as a health professional to make sure the patient feels comfortable and welcomed, you could do this by leaning forward slightly to show interest, this also shows that you are listening to them.…show more content…
Also it is important when building up a relationship with your patient to make them feel more comfortable and familiar with you. It is important when you are talking to your patients not to use words they won’t understand but to make it as clear and simple as you can this will lead to successful
