Water can contain unknown diseases that can make a child or adult seriously ill. Typically, an unclean water source also leads to a non-sufficient diet and poor hygiene. "The W.H.O estimates that 3,900 children die each day because of dirty water or poor hygiene"(LaFraniere). This is an astounding number that can be avoided if a clean water source was provided. This is not any easy task but it can be accomplished and can save the lives of these children.
The water in communities should not only satisfy domestically, but for agriculture and industrial use as well. As the population continues to grow, clean water is being a scarce source for a developing world. Experts state that, “Over a billion people still have no decent water supply and 2.4 billion do not have proper sanitation; over 60% of global ill health can be linked to water. Without tackling these problems, little progress can be made on other development issues (e.g. children required by the family to fetch water several miles cannot attend school, sick people cannot work, infant mortality will remain very high)” (Should Water).
Some people claim that using bottled water is severely damaging the environment due to recycling issues. Others, however, believe that bacteria in tap water are not good for your health. All over the world thousands of bottles are being made from reusable plastic. Taking these products or following some miracle diet may sometimes allow one to lose many pounds in little time but carry bad consequences on the body including malnutrition and sometimes fatal side effects as seen with products such as ephedra. Disability - this one is pretty obvious but I also included the effects of child with disability and also parent with disability and affect on child's development. Children's personal choices - I thought about teenagers and choosing to smoke, drink,take drugs and have sexual encounters - and ways could effect development.
This is caused by the lack of communication and transportation in remote rural areas. Because of this, governments can’t provide essential services such as potable water, affordable food, primary health care, and education. People who live there are totally isolated from the rest of the society. The third and most significant cause of poverty in Mexico is the political economy of the country. We, as a whole, need to ban together to help others; water needs to be equally shared and conserved for everyone to gain access and use to fulfill their basic needs.
