Describe what your role, responsibilities and boundaries would be as a teacher in terms of the teaching/training cycle. The teacher’s role, responsibilities and boundaries are permanently changing, evolving and being assessed in order to give the best possible learning experience to all students. Using the teaching/training cycle can benefit your personal development if you refer to and use its principles. The first stage of the cycle is Identify needs, this begins with the initial assessment where we can determine the learners needs and the correct course for them to achieve. We use a quickscan, and VAK test which helps to determine the learner style, (Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic). From the results we can evaluate the correct level and course for the learner to be on and also if additional support is needed throughout the course. Support must be in place before during and after initial assessment. For me I have a LSA in the workshop with me to assist with the learners who may require it. Within the teaching role of my subject it is important I provide a safe learning environment for all students, ensuring that they all engage and participate actively in practical and theory lessons alike. I would also make sure safety guidelines are regularly enforced. Planning/Delivery is the next phase, and when I am planning to deliver a lesson there are a few things that I need to take into consideration. I will have to be aware of my students learning styles (class profile) and ensure I cover VAK in order that all learners receive an equal opportunity to learn. My lesson plans will have to reflect this by showing a change of delivery method every 15 minutes. In order for me to make sure this is effective I will have to check the resources and the room layout, as the layout has an effect on the delivery of group learning and activities.
