Two managerial roles identified by Henry Mintzberg. i. Decisional role – The roles in this category involve using information and divided into four specific roles and the example of their responsibility: * Entrepreneur – responsible to manage organisation resources to develop innovative products and services. This includes find ways for generating, developing and implementing new ideas, scouting and securing for new business opportunity. * Disturbance handler – When an organization or team facing an expected issues and obstacle, it's the manager who must take charge of handling and solving the issues wisely and diligently. The manager also need to response promptly and making right decision if facing external problem. * Resource allocator - allocate the right resources to the right group in the organisation. This involves allocating funding, as well as assigning staff and other organizational resources. * Negotiator – needed to take part in important negotiations within team, department, or organization. Work hand-in hand with stakeholders such as suppliers, distributors in order to reach an agreement about the input quality and prices. ii. Interpersonal role – The roles in this category involve providing information and ideas and divided into three specific roles and the example of their responsibility: * Figurehead – provide outline about future organisation’s goals in the meeting with employee. They carry social, official and legal responsibilities. People will look up at them as a person with authority and figureheads because they expected to be a source of inspiration. * Leader – They provide leadership and example for the team, department or perhaps the entire organization to follow, gives direct command and orders to subordinates and they manage the performance and responsibilities of everyone in the group. * Liaison -
