JK Rowling writes an adventurous book of a young boy, Harry Potter beginning with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Harry Potter is born into a magical world but raised by ordinary people. Harry potter is not a typical hero. Harry becomes a legend at barely one year old when his parents die and he wards off a spell by Voldemort, the most dominant dark wizard starting Harry’s first journey. At the age of 11 he discovers he is a wizard after ten years of cruelty with his aunt and uncle Dursley.
James Stewart was one of the best actors of the 1950’s. He had many charactistic that know one in Holly Wood. I think James Stewart was very successful in his movie career because, he was soft spoken and he believed that he could do any role that came his way. While I was growing up I watched two movies that James Stewart was in. The first movie was Vertigo.
Harry potter was never the brightest in school but he had a certain gift for potions since the halfblood prince helped him. He even rode wild hippogriff because he was the most powerful wizard. At Malfoy Manor, Snape tells Voldemort the date that Harry’s friends are planning to move him from the house on Privet Drive to a new safe location, so that Voldemort can capture Harry en
Disney designed Jafar to look stereotypical Arab in the movie with a big nose, long beard, heavy accent, and threatening eyes. While Aladdin is also Arabic his features are more Americanized and quite different: small nose, no beard, no accent, and lighter skin (Giroux, 2002, p. 120) Jafar works through deception and dresses up as a prisoner and persuades Aladdin to steal the magical lamp. Little does he know that Aladdin will end up with the three wishes when he gets the lamp. Aladdin does get the lamp and wishes to become a prince so that there would no longer be any conflict between him and the princess if they were to fall in love with each other and marry. Conflict theory: suggests that human behavior in social contexts results from conflicts between competing groups
Stephanie Roehm Professor Clark EN-200 April 25, 2013 Evaluation Rough Draft “Ding Dong, the witch is dead!” With the plot, characters, and special effects for its time, The Wizard of Oz is able to capture its audience with its unique story-line, allowing viewers to link their own life situations to those on the screen, whether the audience is younger or older. The classic film "The Wizard of Oz" was inspired by the book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written in 1899 and published in 1900 by author, Lyman Frank Baum. Baum actually wrote a series of books based on the Oz story and characters. The MGM 1939 film release was a loose adaptation of the initial book. A little known fact, however, is that many Oz films were made during the era of the silent movie.
The first person to write a dictionary of American English and permanently alter the spelling of American English, Noah Webster through his spelling book taught millions of American children to read for the first half-century of the republic and millions more to spell for the following half-century. Born a farmer's son in what is now West Hartford, Connecticut, Webster attended Yale College from 1774 to 1778, during the Revolutionary War. After graduating, he taught at Connecticut district schools before studying for the bar. The dismal conditions of these schools, combined with his patriotism and a search for self-identity, inspired him to compose three schoolbooks that, he believed, would unify the new nation through speaking and writing a common language. (Previously, almost all American schoolbooks had been reprints of imported British ones.)
With Jim Parsons being in all sorts of other roles in the past, everyone will always remember him being in “The Big Bang Theory.” He happens to be the biggest hit on that television show along with his other co-stars. On the show, Sheldon is a physicist who has 2 PHD’s and a Masters Degree. He loves certain TV shows, films, and comic book characters. Jim has little to none of the same interests as Sheldon. When he first came onto the show he was a fan of Harry Potter, but the cast didn’t care for it.
“Harry Potter” is a series of seven fantasy novels, written by the British author, J.K. Rowling. The books chronically tell the adventure of the three adolescent wizards, Harry Potter and best his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. All of them study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The main story arc concerns on Harry’s conflict with the evil wizard, Lord Voldermort, who kills Harry’s parents because he wants to conquer the world of wizard and overcome non-magical people, Muggles. Both “Alice in Wonderland” and “Harry Potter” are juvenile literature as they both are fiction, have the protagonists who are young, and have their own characteristics of traditional literature which make their stories are interested by children.
Hero’s Journey: Joseph Joseph was self confident; he believed he could be anything he wished. Joseph had one sister and eleven brothers from Jacob, his mother was Rachel. He was Jacob’s favorite son and God had great plans for Joseph. Sometimes he wasn’t very sensitive of others’ feelings. When he had dreams of greatness, he didn’t hesitate one bit to share with his brothers and dad.
The film writers, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, supposedly based this film loosely on their personal experiences during their own awkward teenage years. Though I’m not sure how true this actually is, the film is excellently written. There is sensitivity in superbad that other teen movies such as American Pie don’t achieve, this gives the film heart. This is also the main reason that Superbad works so well, it gets away with being immature and crude by using well-written and well-acted parts to create a sense of vulnerability and loveable geeky awkwardness in the three main characters, who constantly attempt to appear cool and confident, particularly around their high school crushes, desperately fabricating stories, with hilarious
