After almost two years in Mexico, the Allen family returned to Texas, where the twelve year old Debbie auditioned for the Houston Ballet School. Debbie’s performance was good enough for admission, however the school denied her entry based on the color of her skin. Fortunately, a year later, a Russian instructor at the school who saw Debbie perform and secretly enrolled the aspiring dancer. When the admissions department discovered what had happened, they were going kick her out but they were so impressed with her skills that they let Allen stay in the program.
BIOGRAPHY Matthew Barney was born in 1967 in California, and with 6 years old moved with his family to the state of Idaho. When he was 12 years old, his parents divorced and his mother moved to New York, where he had often visited her, and where he was exposed to contemporary art. He worked as a model after high school, and left Boise to attend Yale University, in Connecticut. Initially he signed up for a premed course wanting to be a plastic surgeon, but after two semesters he switched to art department. Due his dedication and originality, he could study in School of Art while still undergraduate.
Dave Barry was born on July 3rd, 1947 in Armonk, New York to a Presbyterian minister, also named David Barry. He grew up with the dream of writing, and his sense of humor was present from a very early point in life. He was labeled Class Clown of his graduating class at Pleasantville High School in 1965. Barry attended Haverford College outside of Philadelphia, and he received a bachelor’s degree in English in 1969. Then he married his college sweetheart, Ann Shelnutt in 1970, though they got divorced six years later.

Chris had many problems growing up he thrived off of his peers laughter and enjoyment but his biggest priority was making his dad proud which caused him so much grief and psychological problems through his life. Christopher Crosby Farley Born February 15th 1964 was the middle child of 6. Chris’s siblings as well as Chris would always fight for their father’s acceptance whether it was in academics or athletics. Since Chris was the middle child he was never the favorite growing up, Chris always looked for attention every day on the bus he would sing specific songs based off of his comedic attitude that day. All Chris cared about was making people laugh that was his life’s motive.
During the 1950’s, Fosse moved to New York, hoping he will he will become the new Fred Astaire. During this time he appeared in the movie “Call me mister,” which caught the attention for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. He later appeared in movies with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, but his career in movies was cut short due to him balding, so he switched to Theatre. He choreographed his first musical. He later on directed and choreographed plays like “Redhead,”
David Sedaris was born in Binghamton, New York, on December 26th, 1956, and grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. In his childhood, he went to a speech therapist for his lisp problem. He attended Kent State University, but dropped out, and ended up graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He worked many odd jobs in Raleigh, Chicago and New York City. Since the 1908s, he has been living in France with his partner, Hugh Hamrick.
The Story of RENT Jonathan Larson is the father of the masterpiece that is RENT. He was born on February 4, 1960 to a Jewish family in White Plains, New York. Larson's parents were great lovers of the arts, and exposed their children to the theatre productions such as 1776, Fiddler on the Roof, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, and La Boheme, amongst many others (the later two became enormous influences) whenever it was possible. Larson attended White Plains High School, where he acted in all of the school's productions. After graduation, he received a full scholarship as an actor to attend Adelphi University on Long Island.
