Some of his hobbies are playing with toads and stamp collecting, but by far the weirdest hobby was collecting dead ravens. This sounds ridiculous but it actually get a little worse; he would fix them up as art work an put them on display. George needs to blame somebody for his mediocre life; the truth of his mediocrity, however, lies in his enjoyment of alcohol and prostitutes, vices that prevent him from ever raising enough money to finance his dream of owning his own farm. George from Of Mice and Men, despite his shortcomings, acts admirably towards his helpless friend. • Lennie is big and dumb. Victor literally compared himself to a slave because he was extremely caught up in his work. Honestly I’m not too fond of Victor’s personality because of how obsessed he got with science. Maybe he just was too nerdy of a person for me I don’t know I just can’t make many connections with him. Also, I find it weird that he becomes friends with a girl named Elizabeth then his parents adopt her because her parents died then the parents say that they should marry some day. I find that odd because I think that brothers and sisters should not marry or fall in love no matter if they are adopted or not, I just find that strange.
Throughout the first section of the book, Charles is cautious about interfering too much in his son’s life. At the same time, he envies the two boy’s ability to run free and happy. About half way through the book, he jumps into action, surprising even himself. Charles realizes that something is not right about the carnival, and has suspicions about Mr. Dark and Mr. Cooger, the men who run the carnival.
I do not like it, but I kind of understand it. Roger dropping a boulder on Piggy is not a surprising thing for this cruel boy to do, so I understand it even while I hate it. And when Jack orders his tribe to kill Ralph, I know Jack simply wants to eliminate any impediment to his absolute authority. Here, Harry is an outcast and an embarrassment to the uptight Dursleys. They force him to live in the cupboard under the stairs and ignore him in favor of their obnoxious son. On Harry’s eleventh birthday, a large, kind man named Hagrid rescues him from his incarceration. Hagrid tells Harry how he once was a student at school for witches and wizards, but he misbehaved which resulted in his expulsion from the school. Dumbledore, after learning of Hagrid’s dismissal from the school, allows Hagrid to stay on campus and work as the gamekeeper.
Chas had currently, the second best war souvenir collection in the whole of Garmouth. He was second to Boddser Brown. Boddser also went to Garmouth High School, he was a bully there and he didn’t like Chas. This machine gun would surely change things. Grendel had no hall, no lord, and he disobeyed the laws of warfare by attacking at night. For this, Grendel’s point of view is a little skewed for he has such a burning hatred for men that he murders and eats them. When hearing of Beowulf, he is the shining example of everything that Grendel hates. Over the course of the novel, the reader realizes how much Grendel acts like a human and how his train of thought is more rational than portrayed in Beowulf. This personification is shown throughout because of his complex thought patterns.
Brandon Dunning Mr. Robel English 2 November 5, 2010 Lord of the Flies Lord of the Flies, a novel by William Golding, reveals the inner evil in human society. It shows that human kind is hopeless when it comes to evil and that it can take over anybody. William Golding did a good job showing how evil can gradually take someone over. For these kids stuck on the island it was only a matter of time before they turned evil and became hopeless. When the boys were deciding who should be chief and who should be hunters, the group decided Ralph should be the chief and the choir boys should be the hunters.
