Katrina M. Ward April 18, 2011 Advice to High School Freshmen As a freshman, you will experience many new things. The most important thing to do while experiencing these things is to be prepared. Overcoming peer pressure, having goals and motivation, and understanding the next steps are just a few ways to be prepared. Your freshman year is very important is very important and you should be looking forward to a lot of advice. First, overcoming peer pressure is a big factor in high school.
A student’s participation in various activities throughout the community opens the door to not only a better society, but also an improvement in the student’s morality and character. The Dalton School’s mission statement argues that one who is involved in community service “will feel a sense of accomplishment” and their ability to connect with others is enriched. Being that technology is so advanced these days, students are commonly dependent on their electronic devices to get them through the day. Such devices set students back from lending a hand to others due to the fact that they are often distracted by social media and improving society’s view of themselves. By requiring students to take a break from technology and lend a helping hand, they become better people because the student then realizes the importance of human interaction and how just a simple smile can brighten someone’s day.

Yes, well I agree with you I’m in 7th grade and come home with a bunch of homework and it needs to stop. Kids should have less homework because we have seven hours of school, which means less family time, fun time and causes a lot of stress. We should have less homework because we have seven-hours of school five days a week but we have two months of break which is summer. On an online debate website, a student speaks out about thru experiences with homework communicating.” We kids nowadays have a lot of stuff to do.
Entering college can be one of the scariest, yet liberating experiences of a young adult’s life. It’s a time to branch out and grow as a person and really figure who one would like to become. The largest and most substantial moment in my life so far has been starting college. This is because college is a mature environment where a student has not only many freedoms and responsibilities but a chance to learn, socialize, and get active in the university community. The first year of college forms students into well-rounded individuals.
I try to study in between my classes during my two hour breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so I don’t fall behind in my schoolwork. Lastly for this section, I plan on changing up my study habits. In grade school all the way up until senior year of high school, I made it a habit to study and do homework in front of my television. Now, that will not happen. I am only going to study and do homework while sitting in silence or while listening to instrumental music.
Teenagers adapt to their surroundings in order to live, and in a non conventional sense, reproduce. The adaptations they have to make are a little different, however in a sense, it does include shedding one's skin and growing a new, possibly tougher one. High school students have to adapt to socially constructed levels; height, sexuality, weight, grades, social life, socio-economic standards, the list goes on. In essence, they survive by changing themselves, whether for better or for worse. For most teenagers, school is as much a popularity contest as it is an opportunity to further one's education, maybe even more so.
The more prepared a person is to face the similarities and differences, the more successful they will be in the long run, because College and high school is totally different. High School and College are both educational grounds for students to grow and enrich their lives with knowledge and power. Both places are full of experiences and filled with a lot of memories. They are both run by the government. Both play an important role in making a person into a talented individual and a member of a society.
One of the best experiences of every young teen’s life is going to college. Most if not all can’t wait to enter into what can be the best time of their lives. However when they get there they realize that there are many difficulties they have to overcome. College freshmen have to face the difficulties such as financing payments, managing time, and avoiding depression. Although difficulties are a part of life, there is always a positive side and a way to overcome them.
There are many effects with long school hours on my kids such as little or no time for after school activity like sports. Long school hours causing my kids to deal with so much stress that it affected their educational performance. In addition to that, long school hours lead to long homework hours and less time for good night sleep. When I was in school, I started my day around six-thirty in the morning. Then I had a light breakfast with my siblings.
The Challenges That A Person Faces Upon Arrival To College Many of us view going to school, or pursuing education, as an opportunity. Most of those who succeed in their career are those who succeeded in education. Education offers a lot to benefit off. It is not tough and it is not easy, but it is most definitely a challenge to overcome. There are plenty of experiences that I have been through whiles being in college, and still going through some now.
