(1) Explore the role of communications in the promotion and provision of health and safety in the workplace. Section 26 of the safety health and welfare at work act 2005 deals with communication .Communication is the transmission of information there are two types of communication verbal and non-verbal plus the behaviour that come with these words . Good listening and clear instruction leads to a positive health safety culture. There are many ways to promote good health and safety values in the work place regular meetings where all employees must attend and kept up to date with all changing health and safety legisations which gives the workers the information to keep safe ,appoint a health and safety committee and appoint safety reps. Stress : Is the body natural reaction to excessive pressure , it can be down to work or personal circumstances stress in work can be down to a person not having the knowledge of the job or the skill to carry out there work load , or have the ability to do certain jobs stress can occur due to many factors to much work to be carried out a change of work patterns lack of support from management or workmates , falling out or fighting with colleagues or not knowing what to do . The physical effects of stress are raised heart rate , increased breathing dry mouth , sweaty palms , digestive problems the symptoms of psychological effects are heightened emotional state felling of being overpowered , fear , felllings of loss of control . The employers have a responsibility under safety , health and welfare at work act to raise awareness , provide support for staff , give staff clear roles and responsibilities deal with bullying in work place and vulnerable groups and communicate companys ability
