She has to live away from the community and people in the community because she is a deviation. Sophie’s friends that know have to help her if she gets into any kind of trouble. For example when David and Sophie are playing by the river when they are children a boy named Alan sees Sophie’s foot and David has to try and fight Alan so that he won’t go and tell. That is something that Sophie has to be extra cautious about. Sophie’s family also has to make sacrifices for her.
The interplay of faith and reason in the trial of Job is similar to that of Abraham (and the story of his son), as they are both put to trial in order to test their faithfulness to God. Even though this ‘test’ is beyond logical understanding, reason becomes overridden by their steadfast belief in God, meaning, although God presented challenges that seemed unreasonable to his believers, Abraham and Job both kept faith in Him, even if it meant losing their loved ones and properties, all for the sake of keeping God alive in their life. In detail, Job is a well-respected, god-fearing man who is very devout to his faith. There came a time when Satan approached God so that he may put Job to the test and prove to Him that his faithful servant was only loyal because of his abundance in material wealth. What seems incomprehensible to reason is why God, an almighty and good being, would let Satan freely oppress Job, an innocent man.
He finds the new religion fulfilling and embraces it in contrast to his father, who is intolerant to the cultural collision. Okonkwo continually tries to fight the changes within the Ibo society even when the clan does not assist him in getting rid of the
Andy was hired by the victim’s father to process the case. It was a very hard one for Mr.Barber. It got to a point where he had to defend his own son. It had ruin Jacob’s reputation and tored the family apart. Andy loved his child and doubted he would kill anyone, but was afraid his father and grandfather’s killer instincts had been passed to him.
Throughout the story Huck has had to deal with other people’s views on religion. At the beginning of the story when Widow Douglass was sivilizin’ Huck, she explained all about the good place and the bad place. But, Huck, “Didn’t think much of [the good place],” because Tom Sawyer wasn’t going there “by a considerable sight. [He] was glad about that, because [he] wanted [Tom] and [him] to be together.” (Twain, 5). Since the beginning, Huck was wary of religion.
I think the Israelites told this story because they wanted their children, and grandchildren to remember to obey God and not be sinful. The flood story reflects the journey of Israel for many reasons. The flood happened because the people were disobedient and sinful, and even though they had a big consequent, God still saved humans. During Israel's journey, the Israelites disobey and turn away from God sometimes, God punishes them, but he never gives up on them
In a world that is filled with such things as hate, war, terrorists, genocide, starvation, etc., goodness can be challenging. I believe that all too often we think of being good as a list of things we mustn’t do, but to be our brother’s keeper goes above and beyond that concept. It means, as the Bible says, “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” I believe “neighbor” means all human beings. The people of Le Chambon believed that too, they carried out both the positive and negative moral injunctions. Most people will never have to face the same challenges as the people of Le Chambon, but still, it’s a core part of what it means to be morally responsible.
Throughout Great Expectations, Pip is constantly feeling guilty of everything, even though he does not always deserve to feel this way. Pip’s older sister, Mrs. Joe Gargery, causes Pip to have the feeling of guilt throughout his childhood and adulthood the most. As bad as it sounds, Mrs. Joe actually makes Pip feel guilty for being alive. Pip tells us this when he says, “I was always treated as if I had insisted on being born in opposition to the dictates of reason, religion, and morality, and against the dissuading arguments of my best friends.”(Dickens 22) I don’t think that it is fair for Pip to feel guilt for living at such a young age. He doesn’t know any better and could possibly end up doing something really bad because of this feeling.
Okonkwo, afraid of being viewed as soft-hearted and weak, participates in the killing of Ikemefuna. The clan elders advised him not to partake, but he did so anyway. Nwoye is not only emotionally broken, but spiritually as well by the killing. Okonkwo is shaken as well, but he continues to try to become a lord of his clan. Nwoye constantly disappoints Okonkwo, which leads to a great love for his daughter Ezinma.
Some times history makers feel that life is full of unfriendliness that may remind them of the history role models that in this situation they could find God as the best friend. Some times we feel that our mysterious creator likes to test his believers with such a harsh unfriendly situation that if they can find the best friend that is actually him self and then family members. There is an old advice that pray even for your enemies, but on the other hand we have some brutal enemies like wild animals that if we pray or forgive them everyday, they just get worse that God
