Meryl Streep is known for achieving her acting career by having a good work ethic and by being disciplined. Born on June 22, 1949 in Summit, New Jersey, Meryl Streep is considered one of the greatest actresses working today. A graduate of Yale Drama School, she is equally good at performing on stage or in front of the camera. Streep began her career on the New York stage in the late 1960s and appeared in several Broadway productions. In the 70’s she had her screen debut and ever since then she has been getting work to this day.
These shows are all impeccably produced, with incredible lighting, sound, and often, a full orchestra. The play I will be referring to when I talk about smaller productions is called Songs for a New World and is one of the smallest productions I have seen. With limited and less professional equipment, it was still one of the best musicals I have ever seen. The mainstream productions I have seen were very well directed; very well suited for an audience. The actors were fairly decent; they made excellent use of the stage; and they could pull off their not-very-realistic characters that are only accepted in music theatre.
This choice by Mr. Davis I felt was a risky one because there were a lot of songs in that play that not everyone in the audience was familiar with. I was glad that a few of the actors I had graduated with as well as myself were in the audience because we did this play a few years ago and still knew all the words to the songs. It was however a good way to get the audience involved with the play and to keep them on their toes. I feel as if Mr. Davis didn’t want the audience to just have to sit quietly and absorb, The Wizard of Oz is a well-known show and movie so it was a good choice for what he wanted to accomplish. This affected the audience because not very many people were prepared to be actively involved and were surprised at first, but as the show progressed many relaxed considerably and had a great time.
Professor Jordan tries to run and is surrounded by the police. ➢ Analysis The 39 Steps follows many themes and conventions of a typical Hitchcock movie. The falsely accused regular guy (North by North West, 1959) who is on the run from those who are actually guilty of the crime (The Man Who Knew Too Much, 1934.) The protagonist is in some way guilty of something. In this film it is the fact that Hannay had invited a girl back to his place for sex
All my life I always come cross seeing a one type of theater is seeing one’s of my favorite R and B musical singer at a concert and that simmered seeing a play because they both have a lot in comment like the audience, stage spaces, director, producer, and many more. Long time ago I did seen the Lion King play in New York that was really interesting and it made me feel like I was in the show with all the excitement going on like movement, dancing, singing and many more. Theater is totally different from the film and television because with all different performance, each audience response differently of how they see it in their view. Second, theater had many different things you should know when you go to see played a t the theater like stage spaces, scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, and musical. The thing I was touch by the costumes design because of the fact I like fashion, how they would match up the costumes with the story.
As a college student and speaking as a member of the rest of the Pocatello theatre-attending community, I found the play very fitting and easy to understand. Although set in a different time period, some of the scenarios presented in the play were very relatable for many of the audience members. Most college students have had a roommate or two that they haven’t been too fond of or gotten along with, and seeing the same relationship played out onstage was frankly hilarious. The stage direction and blocking in the theatre in the round made this production of The Odd Couple unique and exciting. Action could be seen from all areas of the house, but there was never a time when my view was obstructed by stage furniture or other actors.
The performance went off without a hitch. Everything was perfect, from start to finish. Just hearing people yell your name while you stand under those lights that hinder you from seeing anything in the house gives me such an adrenaline rush. After the show was over I felt like such a celebrity at school for the rest of the year. That’s what made my junior year so very
In the class, I have appreciated many dance compositions of different periods. Swan Lake was my favorite. Although I only saw the interesting version which were performed by all male dancers, the music and the movement attracted me deeply. Thus, I was eager to see the formal version. As a result, I rented the CD of Swan Lake from the library last Thursday and planned to watch it in a romantic atmosphere, even though Swan Lake was not written in the Romantic Period.
Despite the absence of special lighting, costumes or a large troupe, the team was able to present a captivating performance which kept the audience entertained from beginning to end. The first half of the performance focused on Macbeth. It was set in an interview between two different actors who were each starring in different Macbeth films. The two actors argued over whether Macbeth was a tragic love story or an epic war adventure. The second half of the performance focused on Romeo and Juliet.
In the movie Take the Lead, I was immediately struck by his outgoing personality and confidence in his vision. His vision was to teach ballroom dancing to at risk, tough inner city kids in hopes of instilling discipline, honor, and self respect. He was passionate and he believed that the discipline of ballroom dancing would teach the young people about leadership, cooperation and teamwork. Leadership is one of the key components in the field of social innovation. Pierre Dulaine has been hailed as the “dancer and teacher extraordinaire” by the New York Times.
