I am very excited. This leads to another short term goal of trying to secure the funds (hopefully, the Bill Gates Scholarship) that will allow me to receive a Bachelor of Science degree there. I consider myself a perpetual student. I am always learning and always striving to improve. That leads to my next short term goal of personal development.
From such an unforgettable writing essay experience, I have learned lots of practical techniques and skills very helpful for my future study. I have learned to graciously take advantage of the academic assistance Auburn University offers. Supplemental Instruction, SI, has become a Heaven-sent for my history grade. Having a graduate student, who has previously taken and aced the class, review with you is more than helpful. Study Partners is also a resource that I plan on taking full advantage of. Being a college student on a budget has taught me to take advantage of anything free, one of these things being the services Auburn University offers.
So there are so many benefits to putting in the extra mile and achieving the goal of a college degree and in return, living the American dream. When you have a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or even an Associate’s degree, you are opening the playing field up to achieving success in a field of work that you will be happy to wake up to on a daily basis. The blood, sweat and tears that goes into your college degree is well worth what you put into it. The material you learn sets you up for a path to success. It’s so important to try your hardest in college because it says a lot about you, your future and the goals you are trying to proclaim.

I have made many friends including Cadet/Private Sommermeyer and Cadet/Private Tatum. These many friends extend beyond the JROTC classroom and will no doubt be there when I most need them to be. Another thing ROTC is good for is community service hours. My counselor has already given me a community service worksheet to fill out whenever I do something and she says it will help me get into a much better college and will also look good on my Job/college application. JROTC also inspires me to work hard in school and out of school.
George Washington University has appealed to me since the beginning of my college search. It offers everything I could ever want to study, and it is the ideal location for me. I am interested in science, and I may eventually seek a future in medicine or the health sciences. Through the College of Arts and Sciences, I could explore a BA or BS in biology, or majors in biological anthropology or biophysics. The idea of having so many choices relating to one field is very exciting to me.
Leadership is such an ongoing and ever changing topic that it is very important to study and take in as much knowledge as you can from courses or other tools such as books. I feel this book was a wonderful tool to accompany leadership courses. I will keep much of the knowledge with me and will be able to apply its tools and ideas to much of my life after college. It might sound cliché for a book report, but I would recommend this book to everyone who seeks the tools and ideas of one of the greatest leaders of our time. Even to those who may never be a leader, the concepts in this book, I find apply to everyday life and how you deal with people and everyday
