How significant it is for students to pass exit exams if the tests fail to translate into deeper learning for students and academic success? Components of the Exit Exams The exit exams are comprised of two sections, which include English, language arts and Math. Tenth graders who fail the exam have five opportunities to retake the sections they struggle to pass. Students can retake the test twice in their junior and senior and once after high school if they fail it initially. Most states also offer students the opportunity for remediation, typically during the school day.
My grades did take a slight decline during my first two years of college, for sports and work consumed large chunks of my time. I had to accept my limits and make the ultimate decision to drop sports from my schedule, so I could get my grades in good academic standing. Accepting that limit was one of the best decisions of my life, because I was able to uncover what it is I truly want to push myself
Summer is a time for students to take a break from school. However, with the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT and more specifically to AP classes, more schools are taking caution to keep their students from failing out of line. More and more teachers are assigning homework over the summer to help students retain their knowledge over the long three months, but it may not be the best way to benefit kids’. The break should be free of homework so kids’ can relax and spend time with families, get rid of stress, and pursue their interests. A year-round, students have been doing their homework.
It took determination, a lot of studying and two years, but I finally managed to pass the Algebra II Trigonometry Regents. Some New York schools changed the curriculum, and instead of teaching Geometry before Algebra II Trigonometry, they reversed it to accommodate the more difficult Regents exams. The problem with that was that students weren’t learning the correct math subtopics that were going to be on the test. The first Algebra II Trigonometry Regents that I took in June 2010 was after completing the entire full year course. When I first opened the test, I realized that some of the topics included were never taught.
My eleventh grade year was also a disaster because of the struggle of passing my biology state test and I was really distracted and just wanted to go back to the alternative school but my mom and the principle would not send me back. My senior year I transferred to Christ Missionary and Industrial high school (college) the year flew by but I really enjoyed myself there. Now I am still here at CM&I , I supposed to be a summer graduate if everything goes as planned. Once I finish high school I plan on signing up for the air
In this essay I am going to explain key influences on the learning process of individuals. I am doing a BTEC extended diploma in health and social care right now at college and I am enjoying it so far. I did As levels last year in applied science, media studies and communication and culture and did like the subjects which made me go off track I didn’t attend lessons and my attendance dropped poorly. However when I came to pick up my results and I didn’t get the grades that I needed I realized that I need to put my head down because I don’t want to end up doing a boring/retail job all my life. My career goal is to become a radiographer which my dad first introduced to me and I found rather interesting, but my plan B is social work.
I try to study in between my classes during my two hour breaks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays so I don’t fall behind in my schoolwork. Lastly for this section, I plan on changing up my study habits. In grade school all the way up until senior year of high school, I made it a habit to study and do homework in front of my television. Now, that will not happen. I am only going to study and do homework while sitting in silence or while listening to instrumental music.
1. If everything went perfectly during my education here at WGU I would complete my degree in: 12 Months 2. Some potential obstacles that could hinder me in my WGU goal attainment would be: Not having the time to commit to finishing extra classes 3. If I happen to get off track the best way to motivate me to get back on course would be to: (ie: Have more frequent contact – ie 2x weekly phone meetings; request that I submit email progress reports weekly, etc.) Submit email progress reports 4.

In my essay I will examine three things I need to do to change my attitude on my education these things are; go to totoring, study, and stop procrastinating. I am doing exceptionally well in all my classes except for one Ms. Boykin’s Algebra II class. It is my fault because I don’t wake up early enough to go to tutoring in the mornings. My strategy for the 2nd semester is to study and to stay on top of make up work when I am absent and go to tutoring to get help on things I don’t understand. Since high school I’ve been doing poorly in math but, I’m not going to let it get the best of me and I will do what ever is necessary in order to pass and graduate in June.
