Stress and Anxiety and Habits, How They Are Related

It is fact that at some point or another in each individual’s life, everyone has suffered with one or more of the topics in the title. In this essay I will discuss the effects that the above can have on an individual and give a conclusion of their relationship with each other. Stress Life can be very chaotic and busy for people these days and stress is our body’s natural reaction to change or something that we fear or feel out of control with. It seems like stress is just an unavoidable part of today’s fast moving world. I have learnt that stress is the body’s instinctive response to external environmental cues, as well as to an individual’s inner thoughts and feelings. It is how an individual reacts to perceived danger, the action known as the “fight or flight” response. From my own experience of stress I, on occasion have found it hard to concentrate or have not been able to sleep very well. I have found this caused me to be clumsy and make silly mistakes. This at the time has leaded me to feeling even more stressed! Stress can occur to all types of people with all types of backgrounds. For example something that I may find stressful may be completely un-stressful to someone else. In my opinion an individual’s limit of stress is linked in with their belief system and the way the individual has been brought up to cope or not cope with certain situations. Through research I have learnt there are seven types of stress. Hypostress, this is a type of stress that occurs if an individual is bored or under stimulated, this can lead to depression and lack of motivation. Eustress is in a way a positive stress. For example if an individual has a deadline to meet or competition to win. I used to act in the theatre. This is what I would feel when I had learnt my lines of the script.
