Steve Jobs and the Antennagate The Creative Leader Steve Jobs, CEO and co-founder of Apple Inc., is a well-known American entrepreneur for his creative ideas, ideas that are shaping our lives. He simply takes an existing technology, re-invents it – exploring new dimensions – and the end result is a creative product establishing a new market trend. A quick look at the Mac and any standard laptop, the iPod and the Walkman/Discman, the iPhone and any smart phone, and recently the iPad; these are examples of the innovations of Steve Jobs. ‘There's an old Wayne Gretzky quote that I love. 'I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.' And we've always tried to do that at Apple. Since the very very beginning. And we always will.’ – Steve Jobs Jobs' history in business has contributed much to the symbolic image of the distinctive Silicon Valley entrepreneur. He emphasized the importance of design and the crucial role aesthetics play for end users. His work driving forward the development of products that are both functional and elegant has earned him a devoted following. Personality Traits “Jobs has embraced the personality traits that some consider flaws—narcissism, perfectionism, total faith in his intuition—to lead Apple and Pixar to triumph against steep odds,” Kahney wrote in his book Inside Steve’s Brain. It is also well known that Jobs has a legendary temper; he didn't seem to care about the severe damage he caused to egos or emotions, so long as he pushed for greatness. These personality traits have dubbed much of his management skills and strive for innovation and perfectionism.
