As a massage professional, I believe, that I can ethically serve my clients best by understanding their rights and needs. I can serve client best by staying within the client and therapist boundaries. I can best support these practices by staying clear of burnout. It is important to be aware of the individual’s level of communication and ability and to use there chosen form of communication wherever possible. As I have been keyworker for many individuals I think they need to be aware of the clear boundaries that are put in place and this also needs to be consistent within all staff that will be supporting the individual. This is very important to form positive relationships whilst still keeping professional boundaries in place. You need to be a good listener, patient and be prepared to put in the effort as it can sometimes be very frustrating especially if there are communication difficulties.

All service users should be supported and enabled to live in an environment which is free from prejudice and safe from abuse. My responsibilities under the duty of care is to do everything reasonable within the definition of my job role to make this happen. It is very important that you work in partnership with the service user and their family because they may be able to provide useful information to support you in your work and you may be able to provide useful information to support them being part of the individuals life. The results I hope to gain from this proposal are my friends and family giving it a try and hopefully staying with it. When supporting a colleague with regards to consent of an individual it is important to ensure that the colleague understands that the decision of the individual is final. I think the humanistic-encouraging trait is important because like any other leader, people must trust you, set goals that are attainable, learn how to resolve issues in a constructive manner, and encourage your followers.
