Now, in the past few years, some cities and states have started banning smoking in all public places even, in some cases, bars. [8] People worry about what smoking does to them, well I'm here to say that cars produce more harmful chemicals into the air then smoking does. We cannot ban everything just because we disagree with it. As for the non-smokers worrying about their health as they go to the bar and drink, you will not be hurt by a night in a Smokey room just as you will not harm your body forever by a night of a few drinks. 8 Senator Rodney Ellis; “A smoke-free Texas?” State senator proposes statewide smoking ban, January 18, 2007, Austin American-statesman.
Or did you just hope for the best and continue on your way? If you one of many people who had a conceal carry license you would most likely just go right it without any worries. But what happens if that store didn’t allow weapons? Criminals don’t care about that no weapon sign, nor do they care about no gun zones. The reason they are called criminals, is because they break the laws governments have enacted to keep its citizens safe.
Should smokers be prevented from smoking in their own homes or in their cars when children or any other non-smoker is present? Why or why not? I cannot speak for others but I feel like smoking should be an outdoor thing. Keeping non-smokers from smoke exposure would be a good thing. Children when they are small do not know the difference between smoking or not and if they do they are not aware of the health risks and how really bad smoking and secondhand smoke can be.
The inability for employers to have a drug free workplace, since they will no longer be able to give the employees drug test for marijuana. It would send a permissive message to young adults that drug use is acceptable. This creates to the public perception that marijuana is not a serious or harmful drug, when in fact, it lead to numerous mental and physical harm. Loss of control over medical marijuana by physician. In consistency with other laws for example, if a state legalizes marijuana, this conflicts with federal laws, and this leads to confusion in the public and among law
These people have stomas and now have a huge hole in their throat. This commercial is targeting smokers and potential smokers as well. This is made clear by looking at their website where the CDC states, “The Tips from Former Smokers campaign features real people suffering as a result of smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke. Their compelling stories send a powerful message: Quit smoking now. Or better yet — don’t start” (Tips From Former Smokers).
Michael believes that some anti-smoker groups won’t give the product a chance because “they find it difficult, if not impossible, to endorse a behavior that looks like smoking, even though it is literally saving people’s lives”. Another point he decides to bring up is about the relationship between electronic cigarettes and second hand smoke stating “there is none”. Electronic cigarettes are “battery-powered device that converts liquid nicotine into a mist, or vapor, that the user inhales” therefor there is no smoke for the smoker or those around him to
Freak accidents can happen, and this particular brand has been taken off the market. This particular incident has not seemed to discourage anyone from buying the E Cig, although it is an extremely scary situation. Because of both health and safety concerns, electronic cigatettes have been banned in several countries including Canada and Brazil. Still I think it questionable whether e-cigarettes are really meant to be a device meant to stop smoking or one that is designed to hook new smokers and keep old one’s addicted to nicotine. The use of candy flavors suggests that e-cigarettes are designed to be marketed to children, to be a gateway to smoking cigarettes.
He continues by claiming that denying housing and employment for smokers is a form of public hostility. This is a false analogy, and where Scott uses the term “discrimination” in an inappropriate manner. Racial and ethnic discrimination is different because people do not choose to be a certain race like choosing to be a smoker. Furthermore, people do not negatively affect others in their vicinity with secondhand ethnicity. By stating that nonsmokers “force their beliefs on the rest of society,” Scott suggests that smokers are victims of violences, and are threatened with restriction of the First Amendment.
Jordan Mendoza Money Management Brent Booth November 27th 2012 I feel as that there is no way to possibly make Tax's fair for everyone. Its also hard to make a decision on this topic because my views are one sided with washington state tax's. I feel as if that we were to take taxes away on something that it would effect something else, as to say no tax on gas means there is no money going toward the roads. If we were to have sin tax, which I believe we already do tax those items, I think that is ok. Taxing items like alcohol and tobacco, is a good thing, you hope it will help people quit smoking, or alcoholics stop drinking. But then is that fair to he companies selling the product?
Second hand smoke is highly dangerous to a public community and the litter that smoking results to is detrimental to the animals and their habitats. Allowing smoking on our beaches also steer tourists away, and with this type of economy Walton County cannot afford to lose any tourists. There can be numerous solutions to cancelling smoking on the beaches of Walton. To fix the smoking issue there could be no smoking signs posted throughout the boardwalks. The cities could provide classy trashcans that would blend in with the rest of the beach and communities.
