Serial Killer: Albert Fish The serial killer that I chose to write about is Albert Fish. Albert Fish, known as the Gray Man, the Werewolf of Wysteria and possible the Brooklyn Vampire, boasted that he molested over 400 children and was suspected in torturing and killing at least 5 others . Albert was a small, gentle looking man who appeared kind and trustworthy, yet once alone with his victims turned into a horrible monster. He was born in May 19, 1870 into a family that had a long history of mental illness. His parents abandoned him at an early age and he was sent to an orphanage. Fish later admitted that while living in the orphanage he was exposed to regular beatings and satanic acts. In 1890 he began his crimes against children. Fish would lure them away from their homes and proceed to torture them in various ways including using a paddle with sharp nails, and then rape them. As time went on his fantasies grew more horrific and ended with him murdering and eating his victims. He would also respond to personal ads in newspapers and ask women to participate in sado- masochistic acts including being paddled, with the same nail filled weapon he would use on his victims, until blood would run down his leg. He also found sexual pleasure in inserting needles deep into his abdomen. Two of the most talked about crimes that Fish committed were those of Grace Budd and Billy Gaffney. In 1928, Fish tortured, murdered and ate the remains of Grace Budd. The investigation of her disappearance went on for another 6 years. Then on November 1934 Graces mother received an anonymous letter which gave gruesome details of the murder and cannibalism of her daughter. By tracing the letter, police were able to track down and arrest Mr. Fish and in March 1935, his trial began. During his stay at the prison he was visited by the mother of Billy Gaffney to get details about her
