Dave then planned steal food from other children's bag but he was caught and his mom was called to the principal's office then when he went home his mother told him to go to the toilet and wait there she came there with ammonia on a spoon and made Dave drink it. In 2009 16 children died in New Zealand because of abuse by their own family members. That’s about one every 23 days. Another example is when Shamia Lawson ordered her 9 year old son to sit in the bath tub while she poured five pots of boiling water over him. Lawson told him if he got out she would hit him with her belt. Straight after she had burned him she made him clean the kitchen despite his complaints of his badly blistered feet.
References Lists page 17 Introduction Child development refers to the process in which children go through changes in skill development during predictable time periods (http://www.howkidsdevelop.com/DevDelay.html). This is referred to as developmental milestones. Chronological age is thus the predictor for these milestones. Developmental delays occur when children have not reached these milestones by the expected age. E g. a child is expected to walk between the ages of 9 and 15 months, and if a 20 month old child has not begun walking this would be seen as a developmental delay.

She held the children under the water until they stopped fighting.
The Rape of Nanking Babies are snatched from their mothers' arms and bayonetted. Young girls and women are raped over and over, the attacks ceasing only when the girl dies or feigns death. Girls as young as eleven or twelve are carried away from homes and schools to act as sex slaves to soldiers. Forced incestuous rape is used to amuse soldiers, and civilian men are forced to rape dead bodies. Captured soldiers are summarily executed, the commanders of the invaders having determined that the term "prisoner of war" will no longer be used.
The main character in the film, Babydoll, has been institutionalised by her abusive stepfather shortly after the death of her mother. In the opening scene, which shortly I will begin to analyse in full detail, we see Babydoll accidently shoot and, presumably murder, her younger sister, by misfiring a gun aimed at her stepfather whist trying to protect her. Horrified at what she has done, she flees, meanwhile her stepfather has rang the police and falsely claimed that Babydoll has murdered her sister in some form of crazed state, - resulting in her institutionalisation and the stepfathers probable inheritance of the contents of his deceased wife’s will, which she had previously left everything to her two daughters. The opening scene begins with the opening credits merging from the point of view of an audience in a theatre. You can clearly see a stage and the curtains rise to reveal the protagonist of the film, ‘Baby Doll’ sat in what appears to be her bedroom, facing away from the audience with her back to the camera.
An American woman, Minnie Vautrin, who kept a diary which has been likened to that of Anne Frank wrote: "How many thousands were mowed down by guns or bayoneted we shall probably never know. For in many cases oil was thrown over their bodies and then they were burned." One diabolical means of torture was to bury victims to their waist and watch them get ripped apart by German shepherds. “Witnesses saw Japanese soldiers strip victim naked and direct German shepherds to bite the sensitive areas of his body. The dogs not only ripped open his belly but jerked out his intestines along the ground for a distance”.
