His father died when he was about 5 years old and his mother could not take care of him so she sent him and his siblings to an orphanage. The orphanage was a place of brutality where he was exposed to regular beatings and sadistic acts of brutality. As a form of punishment, his teacher would make the children strip down in front of the classroom where they would endure a beating. This is an act that would normally have a negative effect on a child, but Albert seemed to have enjoyed it. He began to get sexual pleasure from it and would get erections every time he was whipped.
Book Report Dave Pelzer is the author of the autobiography A Child Called “It”. This book had 184 pages and the theme is the world would be better if children had caring mothers. The protagonist is a young boy Dave Pelzer because of the abuse he goes through. The antagonist is Dave’s mother Catherine Roerva which in the story went from a loving mother who cared and protected her children to a mother who hates, starves, and tortures her child. The story takes place 1964-1973 in Daly, California.
At the age of five years old my parents were drug addicts and always fighting and arguing so they never could agree to be together for me. My father left my mom for someone else. At the age of seven years old I was forced to move with my auntie because my mother was not able to care for me anymore. Her addiction had taken over. I would see her all the time but it was so hard because I was so young experiences it.
