The world of marketing is a huge creation of many levels and components. The world of sales is based mostly on consumer driven marketing firms often geared toward the promotions for profit and advertising toward customers. The different levels of the sales world are also as huge as the marketing area in which they exist. The driving force of consumer based marketing is sales promotions helps make a company grow and go around. Sales promotions can make or break a product that is newly introduced to the market. Items and services need to be advertised in a way that peaks the consumer interest and promotes sales of that item and make the unknowing consumer come back for more making a bigger market for that product. Sales promotions and discounts are on seen on different levels and are used as the catalyst for certain products and are advertised in a way to get the customers or consumers interested in that product. One marketing technique would be to offer a discount or a deal on a particular product or service for a limited time or offering coupons for a percentage off a particular product. I shop at Lane Bryant one promotion they use to keep me coming back is offering gift checks that basically get the consumer which is me to spend more money but still receive a discount on the total purchase. Lane Bryant offers $25 dollars off a $75 dollar purchase which usually makes consumers spend more; another example discounts and deals would be my local grocery store offering buy one get one free deals which ultimately makes me spend more because of the deal I am getting I am able to buy more. Retail stores like the Children’s Place offer 20% discount just for applying for one of their credit cards even if your approved or not. Retail giant also does a discount on items at certain times of the year offer discounts called door busters which give the consumers discounts once
