Does that make me a loser or a winner that I had faith that what I did what I could do? There will always be someone better than you, even if you do your best. There will always be someone worse than you. The competition will never end and the faith you have in yourself will help you overcome any obstacle. But the faith someone has to overcome all of the usual abilities it takes to be a competitive football player never comes into play, as it may be just a personal inclination.
Abuse of Steroids Bryan Cruse Dr. T. Mathias Eng 121-fall 5 December 5, 2008 Abuse of Steroids The use of steroids in high school football is becoming a life threatening practice for young athletes. According to Seth Livingstone in Sports Weekly “lives are being altered-even lost to the use of performance enhancing substances that have made their way to the corridors and playing fields of the nation’s high school, collage, and professional athletes.” Steroids are manufactured substances that produce male hormones that produce un-natural stimulants used for muscle building. These drugs can be prescribed for things such as delayed puberty, AIDS, and other causes that cause the muscle mass to decrease. But the problem
The article “The Two Lines That Never Cross" should be published in the WARAC because it clearly expresses the risks involved in playing football even though it is one of the most popular sports. This would be a valuable addition to the book under the Sports In America chapter because the potential athletes who are about to get involved in the game deserve the right o know about the various consequences that they might have to face once they get involved in the game. Many people enjoy playing football and cheering for their favorite teams. But the injuries that are associated with this sport are very fatal injuries. This I feel is of utmost importance for the people involved in the game to know and hence this article being published in WARAC would definitely have a positive feedback.
These examples just go to show how widely dangerous both sports can be. Nobody wants any kind of major injury, but that is the risk someone is willing to take in order to do what they love. Having physical strength in terms of muscle takes time to build up. How else would you expect to handle an animal three times your size, or for that matter, a tall, crazed football
The NFLPA exists not only as a voice for the players, but also as an entity to withstand legal backlash as a combined force. They do not want the players’ contracts to be violated nor do they want their members to be involved in illegal acts; however, they want to try and limit legal actions brought against them. This is a reason they are still trying to stay out of the biggest litigation brought on to the NFL ever. Although they probably will not avoid being dragged into the middle of it, they should at least begin evaluating their stance and how to approach the newest legal
Children under the age of 14 are mostly reckless and competitive so when you have them play football even the pros get hurt. Yes the children may play on a less intense scale of the game, but they are still vulnerable to injury. At such a young age, they have a life ahead of them. What if a child is severely injured to the point the parent will be taking care of the child for the rest of their lives because they are incapable of taking care of themselves. No parent wants that.
According to the Motivational Theory, Brett Favre was put on this earth to play football; he lives for football. The forces within Favre drove him to keep playing football. The level of conflict Favre has going inside is insanely high. As a superstar football player made a big decision to come back and play more football, there were many people he feels he must please to keep his fame. The anxiety level that comes along with these conflicts has to be tremendous on oneself.
As a player you do not want to feel so low. I would know as a football player myself; I have been in a situation such as losing the semi-final round of the playoffs. You do not want to lose everything you have worked towards. You want to fight to get what you deserve. Tony D’Amato is capitalizing on this feeling through
Many attempts have been made but it is impossible to make this game safe despite rule changes recently added to the rule book, the newfound studies of concussions, and the improvement of equipment. NFL players Mike Mitchell and LaMarr Woodley believes that the nature of football has changed, and that people are more worried about getting hurt because of the aggressiveness. Mitchell perspective on this is that rules are changing the entire purpose of the game. "I signed up to play full speed, contact football. I feel like I gotta ask a guy 'hey are you ready for me to hit you right now?'
College football is important to the athletes, the students, and the university, and should not be banned. It allows the athletes the opportunity to get a college education, but more importantly for the athletes who never considered college at all. While striving towards a college degree, the sport also helps the athletes to have a better life, learn responsibility, discipline, and in a team-based environment, aiming for one common goal while playing a game that they love; the game that started the rest of their lives. The team also unifies the
