Carol Alborn HIM CORE Day 11 9/12/2011 Purpose and Function of the Health Record A health record is a virtual storage place that documents health care services from healthcare providers at various locations such as the DR.’s office, nursing homes and ambulatory service locations. It’s made up of data or facts from the patient and family members, and these healthcare services, which is analyzed for useful information. It is the HIM professional’s responsibility to take data from traditional practice forms and any Personal Health Record (PHR) or from any other sources, then enter data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Anything missing can alter the patients care. Its Primary purpose is to ensure quality patient care and managing the cost of that care.
Simona Goss July 15, 2013 Government plays an important role in out health care system. Government is responsible for delivering and regulating, aide, and other aspects that benefit four our well being. They pass laws such as the affordable care act and make sure that care providers are in line with the regulations set by state and federal government. Some of the roles and Federal government will have in the health care system are delivery of health care, and delivery and regulating of health care, and also the financial aspect of it ( Yesalis, Holt, & Politzer, 2012, p. 74). The federal government also operates facilities for American Indians, individuals and their families in the service (army, Navy, Air forces, etc.).

The health and Safety at Work Act 1974 or HASAW or HSW is the primary piece of legislation and is responsible for enforcing the act and a number of other acts relevant to the working environment. It also states that all staff are to take reasonable care of themselves and others around them and for their safety. There are differences between Acts and regulations being : An act is something which is passed by parliament. An act of parliament is the primary legislation of the UK, the law.

There was no information on when the Seneca County Health Department was established, but the establishment of the Ohio Department of Health occurred in 1886 (Ohio Department of Health: History of public health, 2012). The HHS has a very rich history that began in “1798 with the passage of an act for the relief of sick and disabled seamen, which established a federal network of hospitals for the care of merchant seamen, a forerunner of today’s U.S. Public Health Service” (HHS: Historical Highlights, para. 44). To put this date into perspective the HHS was founded during the Presidency of George Washington.

ETHICAL HEALTH CARE ISSUES MHA/INF INTRODUCTION When it comes to healthcare ethical issues, there are approximately the same amount of ethical issues as health care issues which are to be solved. There are laws in place to direct the behavior of almost every person in the health care personnel chain, from the nurse to the nurses aide who assists them and the doctor who ultimately gets to try and make the decisions to treat within the confines of the insurance system ruling over the life of the patient . In the health care field , these issues range from insurance coverage , senior care , childhood , immunization , health care reforms , morality , honesty , benefice etc. In this era of medical technology and high advancement in the medical field , constantly changing modes for communication and expanding roles for any health care professionals such as nurse , doctor , pharmacist , dentist etc. there are many legal and ethical challenges experienced on a daily basis, many of which are directly linked to legislative charges regarding the patients confidentiality issues and the ethics of medical technologies.

With this the manager has the knowledge to distribute the funds to the appropriate department and appropriate funds when needed. Marketing is a part of the management system needed to get the organization out to the public to make sure that the facility stays opened for the patients. If there are no patients there is no facility to manage. The most important role or function for a health care manager There are several roles and functions that a health care manager incorporates.
Product As stated above, the product is the physical products and services in which the hospital provides. Products and services are important to hospital because should cater to the target customers. The product is considered the “platform” of the marketing plan, according to Pralea. Decisions about products and services in a health care facility may involve brand name, functionality, quality, safety, packaging, and repairs and support. Every hospital does not provide all services.
