You can use reflective practice to improve the quality of the service you provide by thinking about a task you previously completed and asking yourself: What could have been done better? & How will I do that task next time? Communicating with different people in the setting is also a great importance to when in a health or social care setting because you need to work as a team as well as speaking to the patients to make them feel comfortable and welcoming. This will also show that the patients can rely on you and discuss any problems that they may have or face. When communicating with a wide range of people you get an idea on how different people are you will also know how to deal with that certain person. Effective teamwork shows that you can work in a environment with a whole range of different people and communicate with them in order to give the best care and treatment to those who need it.When having a conversation with a service user it is important that while or after they are speaking you make sure to reassure what the other person has said, to do this is you should use hand gestures, when your thinking or struggling to communicate you

Establishing a good relationship with them will make working easier because you are round people who will co-operate and a sense of trust will develop. A key relationship you will have is the people you support. A skill to build a relationship will be important because it will ensure the identified outcomes have been met. Also when this person has decided they want support in their lives, they need to be comfortable the support is honest and trustworthy, can keep confidences and is committed to working in their best interest. Once this has been established the person will be more likely to feel confident to move towards achieving the outcomes they have identified.
Make a record of what went well and look for ways to improve the things that need to go better. How reflective practice contributes to improving the quality of service provision. If workers think about what they are doing and what they can do to make it better their work will improve and so will the service provision. If you have struggled with a situation, look back over it and think about what you could have done differently to improve your experience. Working in partnership with colleagues is vital to aid the effectiveness of working. It’s important that staff understand expectations and boundaries but also have the ability to seek support. Working in partnership with colleagues and helping them to understand expectations will inevitably aid them in delivering a better service the customers that they are caring for. By working closely with the Homes Current GP it has enabled the staff to gain a better understanding of their own role. It has also aided them with further knowledge which not only also allows for the better delivery of care but also has helped to better develop a strained relationship with other professionals.
He documents that reflection is being mindful of self, either within or after the experience enabling the practitioner to view or focus on themselves within the context of a particular experience. He feels that this is important in order to confront, understand and move toward resolving contradiction between one’s vision and actual practice. (Johns 1994). I feel that this will be a useful exercise as it will enable me to look at my focusing on my own behaviour as a way of overcoming difficulties and learning from them. This will ultimately improve the care that I can deliver through-out my practice journey.
