2. How would you rate your own achievement motivation? Why? In what ways is this an advantage to you? In what ways is it a disadvantage?
I am probably a low key sensation seeker because I do get a sense of satisfaction from accomplishing challenges such as educational, business & personal projects. I however am no thrill seeker at all. Some would consider be boring and I’ve been called that and square but I don’t mind that. I consider myself a reasonable or rational person and I think my choices make my life a little safer and calm. I don’t consider myself boring at all.
The two articles both present reasons why video games might not be all bad for mankind. They both highlight the positive aspects of the engagement of video game playing, while mentioning critics’ opinions; however both articles neglect to personally acknowledge the negatives that come with avid video game playing. In fact, both authors refute every acknowledgement to critics’ opinions of video games with a benefit. While I agree with the cognitive benefits of video games that both authors present, I think they should have discussed some of the real problems that can derive from them. Steven Johnson is the author of several books on the intersection of science, technology and personal experience.
My recurring problem is having no money. I see it as having no income. The real problem is that I do not have a job. I do not see it that way because I go to school. Being a veteran I should be able to use the G.I.
Violent video games give off the message that killing and violence is fun instead of bad. Video games are supposed to be entertainment and killing your enemy’s shouldn’t be entertaining to young children. Children at a young age are like sponges, anything they see, play, or hear they repeat and reenact it. Kids that are playing shooting games become more likely to play that character in real life. Bad language is also in violent video games.

Although Johnson and fellow couch potatoes would truly love to believe that watching TV works wonders on your brain, it is surely a fantasy with no relation to real life Johnsons’ main argument is that TV has gotten more complicated over the years and our brains have to compensate for that. The calls this the Sleeper Curve and defines it: “The most debased forms of mass diversion- video games and violent TV dramas and juvenile sitcoms,- turn out to be nutritional after all” (215). More simply put, that even if TV is really bad, it is still a force for good, improving our brains and not making us dumb. Johnson compares what you gain from TV to what you gain from reading: attention, patience, retention, and parsing narrative threads. The complexity of TV places demands on the same cognitive qualities.
In a working relationship it is better to try to keep your personal opinions to yourself because It is a lot easier to work if you get on and don't have differences and tensions between you. A personal relationship is a lot easier to speak your mind as the person receiving it knows you well and wont get so offended. Aii Give two examples of different working relationships in an adult social care setting When talking to your co workers they normally can relate because they do the same work and normally know exactly what and who you are talking about. When talking to an agency worker or visiting doctor you would need to be more descriptive as they would not know the residents the same way you do. You would probably have to show them who the different individuals are too.
A bond is formed as the worker treats the client with unconditional positive regard and seems interested and may even be interested in the client’s life. The client begins to trust the worker and may disclose things they haven’t disclosed to anyone before. It is important for the worker to maintain professional boundaries such as, not meeting the client outside, not disclosing personal information about themselves etc as the relationship is easily confused for friendship by the service user. It is the responsibility of the worker to not blur the lines. Learning outcome 2 Be able to work in ways that are agreed with the employer.
I understand the need to divide the work among the group members depending on their strengths and weaknesses. I do not let weakness in others stop me from including those individuals 100% in the project. I make sure to help them out by providing them guidelines they can understand and encourage them to be productive members of the group. I’ve had other team members just wanting to do the work themselves and not include those who are less able because it’s so much easier for them to do so. However, I always feel that they won’t learn if not given a chance to try and improve themselves.
