The discussion about gun control is far gone, and America should enact laws that will require gun owners to register their firearms. A background check on every citizen bearing a gun is necessary so that guns do not land in the arms of felons and the mentally ill. Thinking that people can use guns to fight for their liberty is a far much fetched idea that needs a second thought. However, gun control is not the only solution because it is necessary to educate the population on the risks of keeping guns and asking them to remit the guns at their own
Can we allow ourselves to become completely defenseless against someone trying to hurt or kill us? Should we allow everyone to have a gun and know how to use it? Some people believe that we should have more gun control, making it so that only the police and other people of authority carried guns then the world would be a safer place. They believe that making it harder or impossible to purchase guns will result in less crime and less people getting killed. Under this train of thought people would feel safer.
Gun control supporters can count some victories during the past year, including the gun-safety regulations in Massachusetts and the defeat of concealed weapons bill in several states. In all, gun control laws being stricter will gain control over gun violence and decrease the death rate over all. Both articles were well written and had chalk full of statistics and links to other sites to seek more information. They were able to convince me that fire arms should not be restricted, and concealed weapons help to lower crime. To not have possession of a gun in your home leaves you to feel helpless, because of this us civilians would no longer be able to
Gun Control There are new laws and regulations being made all the time in the United States. Politicians think that by making these new laws it will fix their current problems. This is the case right now with the problems they are having with gun control. There is another side to this as well, if well behaved citizens want to carry a concealed weapon they can and this could help prevent bad occurrences from happening. If the right people carry guns it would make for a safer community.
But in all reality, if guns weren’t around, people would still find a way to do crazy messed up things to kill people. Yes with stricter laws on gun control there will be less shootings, but what will replace guns? President Obama’s attempt to make owning guns harder doesn’t invade your rights. Having rules to protect people is all that should matter. While some worry that they cant do what they want, the United States
It will not stop people from buying guns off of the black market and using them like they always have. The federal government regulations make it very difficult for the common man in crime driven neighborhoods to buy a gun, while the thug, under any garb, continues to procure arms illegally. While a segment of the law guarantees individuals the right to own guns, another amendment makes owning a handgun difficult and many people feel that their constitutional rights are being denied (Borade). There will always be murders and killing in our world but gun control is not the answer. If they take away guns, they might as well ban knives alcohol and other dangerous things, but would also be nearly impossible to achieve.
Sometimes even normal-seeming registered gun owners appear to go mad and kill, as tragically happened at Hungerford and Dunblaine in the U.K. Quite simply, guns are lethal and the fewer people have them the better. Law-abiding citizens deserve the right to protect their families in their own homes, especially if the police are judged incapable of dealing with the threat of attack. Would-be rapists and armed burglars will think twice before attempting to break into any house where the owners may keep firearms for self-defense. (This can also be applied to the right to carry concealed weapons, deterring potential rapists, muggers, etc), [Gun
Analysis Republicans don’t agree with the assault weapon bans. They are suggesting other ways to prevent mass shooting. They believe assault weapons ban is going to encourage more crimes. Instead of banning assault weapons republics are suggesting to find out who has the access to those guns, especially people who are mentally ill. This is a serious concern because it would be impossible to track each and every person who is mentally
President Obama and His Vice, Joe Biden, added their voice for tougher gun laws to help stop mass shooting and everyday gun violence. These include, a renewal on the assault weapons ban , limiting high-capacity magazines, and expanding background checks for gun purchases as well as the new gun trafficking laws to help crack down on the spread of weapons across the country. President did personally promised to act without Congressional approval to increase the enforcement of existing gun laws and improve the flow of information among federal agencies to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and others who shouldn’t have them. Though many believe these proposals could help, others think this is not the only way to reduce gun violence among gangs, drug dealers and the mentally deranged. Rather Jonathan Stray thinks it is possible to address gun use instead of availability.
If more people know the pros and cons of the facts about firearms, they will reconsider their opinion on not only the possession of a firearm, but its usage as well. This brings up the topic of concealed carry. The official definition of “concealed carry” is the practice of carrying a weapon in public in a concealed manner. (Either on one’s person or in close proximity.) Although this does pose a security threat, it would be the solution to many of the crimes that are committed.
