William Geist Gribble English 1101 17 January 2012 Stranded For the past forty years now my family has been renting out these cabins at a place called Silver Birch Resort in Batchawana Bay Ontario. That is where fear and I met on a collision course with one another. The most terrifying day of my life began, with waking up to the sun rising across the Bay of Lake Superior, hearing the local loons fishing for the minnows in the lake, and walking over to grab breakfast at the local diner. Finally, morning came and I started running the last three and a half miles as fast as my extremely sore legs would carry me. When I finally made to the highway I felt the biggest amount of accomplishment that I had ever felt before. It was amazing! Camp was about five miles down the road so I decided to hitch hike back. When I finally made it back to camp I found out they had a search party out all night and early morning looking for me. Seriously though there are hundreds of miles of woods and trails they really didn’t have a chance of finding me.
