While the experience of the lesson itself is very important for growth, learning to adapt to the changes after can be another lesson entirely. The most drastic change in my life occurred about five years ago. My parents got a divorce which also resulted in a move that took my brother and I three hours from the only place we knew as home. Not only did I have to accept the fact that my parents were no longer going to be together, I was also now being forced to start from scratch in a very unfamiliar environment. I had to get used to a new city, a new school, new friends and a whole new life.
Everything seemed numb and in slow motion when I was drinking. Missing one family gathering led to not remembering birthdays all together. I can’t say I cared much at the time, but, as soon as I was sure I was getting sober, the reality of what a horrible daughter, sister and aunt I’d been for the last few years set in. The guilt hit me hard. I knew I had to get the hardest part over with first.
Then the doctor said that she had to say home from school until spring. This upset Esther because she very much enjoyed going to school and it disappointed her when she knew how behind she would be in her studies. It would almost be impossible for her to catch up. Later on he finds out that his daughter is smarter than him. 2.
The feeling of fear began a couple of days after, as I started to think about my future. My biggest fear was the fact that I was moving far away from the town where I was born and raised in
My wife would send me emails stating that Rex was not well. She was very aware of the severity and sought out help from the school. She was sadly turned away, because they did not have a counselor to provide the deployment group counseling that is needed at times of war. She was in a battle of her own that I would not fully understand for seven months. I came time for my something that I had dreamed of.
I tried going to alternative school while working and pregnant but that did not last but a semester either. I was to worried about what my child’s father was doing that I also quit going to that school. Six months after having my first child I ended up pregnant with my second one. I knew from then that I had no chance of ever going back. So I got married at 17 and started just playing the house wife and mom, till it came to me having to find a job.
Embarrassment I am a magnet for embarrassment . After I made a stupid mistake in P.E., I was so embarrassed that I didn’t think I would ever go back to school. We play games as if our lives were on the line. Sometimes it takes days to get over a loss. Elementary school in P.E.
