Being able to communicate efficiently and effectively is a vital tool to possess. Good communication skills are vital to the success of an individual in life. Employers seek out individuals with good communication skills to fill various positions. Although, written communication skills are important, especially due to the advances in technology in both personal and business technology, verbal communication skills are far more important. My greatest strengths lie in the fact that I can verbally communicate to almost everyone. In my role as a process engineer, I must communicate exactly what I expect of the technicians in the plant. I must be able to explain what needs and respond to any questions that they may have. I make good use of a chance to talk with people. I have found out that I am very good at balance between my ability to listen and meaningfully respond. I am a great listener, and thus, am capable of conveying messages and information more successfully. I always take pleasure in communicating verbally with individuals of diverse cultures and opinions. This offers me a chance to learn more. However, I have also found out that I have a weakness regarding verbal communication. Often, I find it hard to communicate verbally with a large group of people. Each morning at work, the managers have a morning meeting to discuss the prior day’s production.
