No it is never easy but sometimes you can fake it till you make it. I try to look them in the eyes and speak clearly and not only show up my good qualities but let them know I am open to criticism and critiques and want to learn, that I am not all high and mighty type. What skills will make you stand out? I believe it is my ability to communicate and how fast I learn and catch on. My confidence and ability to get along well with others seems to help.
It helps to keep one’s mind fresh and with new ideas on how to deal with issues which I face during my sessions with a client. Self-awareness develops over a period of time and with experience. With time one can learn strategies to help in the development of self awareness so that personal thoughts and experiences does not affect this. Knowledge that is gained through personal experience can sometimes be a barrier when working but if one is personally aware of this, it helps to remove any barrier. It also question one’s own personal values, awareness and beliefs.
I make sure that I am clear on instructions, times, dates or location and if appropriate I like to have it written down. I aim to make positive and lively conversation to promote the interest in conversation. It is important to be confident as if you are nervous you can sometimes create barriers making communication difficult. Eye contact shows that you are listening and are interested in what the person has to say. I try to be polite and friendly in order to create trust, people feel that you are approachable and tend to communicate better when they trust you.

This means that because the group knows there will be arguments because each individual has different ideas and opinions it will allow them to quickly conquer these differences so that they can go to the forming stage and re-establish these differences of opinions so that everyone in the group is pleased. Also once, you have established that your group is in the norming stage everyone in the group will have a particular role to take part in .The performing stage is frequently achieved by a group leader. In addition, if there is a leader in a health and social care establishment the practitioners will be constantly and continuously reminded to work together this way they will all feel that they have a purpose in their job that they do. I realize that these changes will not come easy but well worth it in the end. The first major change would be a paradigm shift in how I view communication in general and its connection to listening. I now know that listening is an action word and there are so many things I can do to help the listening process be more fruitful for each party involved. I have come to the realization that communicating is a give and take relationship and not something that is all about me. I will no longer tune people out if I disagree with them but I will truly listen and ask questions.
You want your audience to have a clear idea of where you stand on your topic by providing facts, charts of statistics that are colorful and interesting and relevant to your topic. Using good tone and respect for your audience will make them more open to your ideas and point of view. Incorporating good organizational flow helps your audience make connections from one point to the next, giving coherence to your argument. If information is presented in an unorganized way, using words that are inappropriate to your audience, they may lose interest or immediately criticize your argument. Finally, stating the benefits that would result if my solution was implemented or the negative consequences that may result from doing nothing.
I need to make sure that I am very professional with what I am doing and professional with other professional workers as well. Sometimes I can joke around too much so that something I need to work on. I feel I also could work on my communication skills to. I need to make sure I can explain and put my thoughts and ideas on the table clearly and use the appropriate approaches to do so. I also need to work on keeping some of my emotions to myself because they are very easy to see on my face when something is bothering me.
