Orr Shalom I'm sure that this is not the most surprising or unique response, but when thinking of the person who has had the most significant influence on me, the name comes quickly: Mom. This influence goes way beyond the usual "I admire my mom because she is nice." My mother has taught me many lessons throughout my life. I have lived in New York my whole life. I think it would be an amazing experience to live in another country, especially without my family. Both my parents were born and raised in Israel. She lives by many great life quotes. These quotes have played a major role in making me who I am today and continue to have a notable influence in my life. One of the quotes is " Be the star of your own life." I began hearing this quote when I was very young. It's what taught me to be independent and to follow my dreams. For example, I always do what I think is right, I don't depend on other people for anything, and I work my hardest in anything I do because I know that my choices will reflect my future as I get older and will determine how successful I will be in life. This is very significant because as a child and as a teenager, being a leader and being independent isn't always the easiest thing. Another quote is "Be the change you wish to see in the world." This quote encouraged me to get involved doing and enjoying volunteer work in my community. Throughout my high school years, I have been doing a lot of community service at my old middle school, Solomon schechter. When I'm there, I have to help the kids with their homework and play with them any games or sports that they would like. In addition, it helped me realize that I can't always be reliant on other people. If there's anything I want done, I need to be the person to do it.
