He knew that by making the children laugh, he could alleviate the pain that they feel. He always put himself in the patient’s situation that makes him effective and unique doctor. He also treats his patients as a friend or a relative that makes him loved by his patient. The film also showed the downfall of becoming too close to your patients. Being too close to your patients has negative effects too.
The man thought that he could catch and abundant amount of fish but instead he caught the manta ray, and for the first time the man had felt like the prey. The man underestimated nature and believed that the fish were weak and helpless, but in the end, he became the prey instead. Based on the evidence shown, humans should work to respect nature and not belittle it as it could be more devastating than anyone could think
He has done this for a long time and has been called out on it, yet continues the behavior. He is a nice guy and would give you the shirt off his back, but would also find a way to get yours if he liked it. He is mentally ill, but it is just a behavior he has. IT is in no way normal to do to anyone, let alone your friends. Distress: General term used to describe unpleasant feelings or emotions that impact your level of functioning.
Having others go against society with them could have been the reason for their success. McMurphy learnt this the hard way, as he tried to fight against Nurse Ratched by himself for his individuality. Even though he continued to fail, he did not give up. McMurphy started to become not only a hero, but a leader to the other patients at the ward. They began to realize what he was fighting for and the example he was making for them.
Perhaps my own personal opinion on the matter is why I fell in love with the show Curb Your Enthusiasm. In the show, Larry David (starring as himself), finds himself in several awkward situations because he follows a certain code of ethics and principles and challenges anyone who defies them. Larry may act stubbornly to prove his point, which causes the people he is confronting to react in an angry way, but his social codes are generally accepted by the show’s viewers as people tend to find that they could easily relate to them. For me, and several other fanatics of the show, Larry is brave for standing up for his beliefs. People wish they could be more like him, fearless to challenge those they feel act wrongly.
Frazer quickly became aware of Mazey’s insulting and derogatory behavior towards others. Despite having the pleasure of working on other assignments and getting along with other peers, Frazer felt the need to speak up about Mazey’s questionable behavior. Learning that a lot of his coworkers experienced Mazey’s disrespectful behavior during their career at Hudson, Frazer realizes that they had similarities. Frazer has a few options in addressing the problem. However, this problem is tricky as no one has ever challenged Mazey due to his expert and position power, making the situation more complex and difficult to resolve.
Prior to McMurphys presence the men lacked to ability to do things themselves as they relied and abided by the strict ruled of nurse Ratched. The fishing trip allows the men to be away from the oppressive environment of the ward. The lightened environment of the fishing trip allows the men
He is a con man and rebellious behavior. He chooses easy ways to survive his life. He is little lazy and live his life in spontaneous way. For example, McMurphy is transferred from a prison work farm to the hospital because he thinks instead of working in a farm, being in a mental hospital would be an easy way to serve out. Even McMurphy likes to break the rules, he is a people person and he smiles so much.
Elizabeth Bishop states, “I stared and stared and victory filled up the little rented boat” (64-66). The fisherman is filled with victory from doing what other fishermen were unable to do: catch this fish. Even though the author has caught the fish, he admires the fish for what it has overcome and appreciates the magnificence of nature and releases the fish. By reading the poem carelessly, one could think that the fish won the fight, but the fish was not able to escape capture and the fishermen did what others couldn’t: catch the fish. The only
Randle McMurphy is a convict, accused of statutory rape charges, who feigns mental illness in order to be relieved of his work detail. Once McMurphy is admitted into the asylum he befriends several other patients and becomes a hero figure to them through his rebellion towards Nurse Ratched and her strict order she has instilled into the asylum. He is a very social individual and free spirit who accepts the other patients as inmates. McMurphy is non judgmental and does not make the other patients feel like social outcasts. He is a foil to the character of Nurse Ratched, who tries to create order by playing on the weaknesses of the inmates in an attempt to get them to conform to social norms.
