Many of the times I remember seeing police in my school interacting with my fellow student, the police would have a canine or police dog by his side. The police would establish a rapport with my fellow students and impart communicate various lessons, such as being aware of our surroundings, not talking to strangers and always remembering to call the police or 911 in case of an emergency. Nationwide, crime prevention programs have evolved significantly over the last 20 years or so. Most people nowadays routinely demonstrate some forms of crime prevention in their daily lives, from avoiding dark areas with higher crime, to locking the doors of homes and protecting the valuables and families we have. Statutory – The police is a statutory service that has to look after the public, by trying to improve the communities, make sure of citizens safety and serving the public. The police have to be there for us in almost any emergency situation in order to maintain control and prevent any crime. Their purpose is to keep the crime rate as low as possible, help the public in emergency situations and reassure us. The police are there to help by phone, internet or in person.
Service Learning Project 30 December 2012 Keep Council Bluffs Beautiful For my group’s project, we will be working with the Keep Council Bluffs Beautiful organization to clean up trash for two miles near IWCC. Keep Council Bluffs Beautiful is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2008. Its goals work towards making Council Bluffs a cleaner and greener place. It is ran by a volunteer board of directors. They also work to strengthen and improve neighborhoods and help the people of the community to become more a part of the community and neighborhoods.
David Suzuki also explains that there are many sponsored cleanups of schools and community parks. The effect of this is the increased interest in cleaning and making our surroundings better. People started to realize that they are the ones who can make a difference, and nobody else could change our environment. Everyone looked at those community groups, and understood that everyone should be a part of making our future and the future of our kids better. No one wants to go to work through the piles of garbage and unclean streets.
We are committed to being good neighbors to city residents and officials. In that effort, we have put together a series of good neighbor guidelines. •Security. In eighteen years, we have never had a volunteer injured in an interaction on the street. But New York City can be a dangerous place.
Relationship between Public and Private Police CJS/250 Robert Krause July 22, 2012 In the world of security, there exist two distinct branches that work toward the same goal of safety for the people in each community. These two branches are public police and private police. Public police are easily seen, they are governed by a set of rules that helps protect them as well as the population. Private police is a growing industry. In some communities they hold many of the same powers as the public police and are intended to uphold the same standards as their public counterparts.

Fighting and solving crime involves a variety of support, the police force cannot do it on its own, and to prevent crime involves different agencies working together and local crime reduction initiatives.
