Moreover, the most important part of my personal philosophy is my faith. I believe God created us with special gifts and purpose. I have known one of my gifts since I was a child, the gift of serving others, but I have recently incorporated that gift with my purpose in life, which is to serve God. In my future practice as a nurse I would like to incorporate these beliefs and values that have made me who I am today. I once read the definition of Christian nursing written in the book Called to Care, “Christian nursing is defined as a ministry of compassionate care for the whole person, in
The next principal that is distinctive to Catholic education is the evangelisation and education is interlinked. This is true in this case. Evangelisation is the call to conversion and teachers are expected to teach children about God and about the Catholic religion. In a way, they are converting the children to Catholicism, which in my opinion should be the job of the church and parents. The teachers spend religion classes informing and preaching to children about Jesus and his life on earth and the main events and miracles of his life.
Something that a Practical Catholic should also be is a dutiful and productive citizen. My future goals are to become a Pharmacist and help people. By choosing a career in the healthcare field I will always have integrity, responsibility, and caring as traits I have to deal with every day. I come to the aid of the needy and the underprivileged by volunteering on a regular basis. I have served dinner to the less fortunate at the Salvation Army, done chores for the families in the Ronald McDonald House, as well as hosted my own fundraiser to raise money for children in Africa
Eucharist is also known as the “body” of Christ. Roman Catholics also refer to this sacrament as Holy Communion. Receiving communion helps to spiritually and physically become connected to Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is administered at mass and should not be received without receiving forgiveness of your sins. If you are an active member of your Catholic faith you should receive communion at least once a year.
I have learned from the movie that personal debt can lead to an ethical compromise. I feel that my finances are under control right now, because of the reasons I stated above. I know that my ethics are under control, because I have internalized them and pray to God every day to make me more like Jesus. I know that I have strong people in my life, besides family, to help me to make better decisions. The factors that I cannot control are the health of my parents, the actions of my brothers, or the actions of my sister.
Maghiro Jacinta Personal Philosophy of Nursing This is a philosophy of nursing that reflects the beliefs and values of Jacinta Maghiro. Today’s date is May 18, 2015 I chose nursing as my profession because I like to help people in need and nursing is about helping and caring for people who are in need. My passion for nursing began after the delivery of my last child. I was very sick and helpless but the way the nurses cared for me gave me hope and strength to go on. I felt that I could give help in return to those individuals who needed help and had no one to care for them at desperate times when they were sick.
Can Your Code of Ethics Be Wrong? Lonna Shelton-Soward Liberty University Abstract In counseling, whether Secular or Christian based it is crucial to understand and practice ethical codes. Similarities and differences in the American Counseling Association (ACA) code of ethics and the American Association of Christian Counseling (AACC) code of ethics, aim to do no harm. In the AACC Code of Ethics it clearly states, “Christian counselors acknowledge that the first rule of professional-ministerial ethical conduct is: do no harm to those served.” (AACC, Section, ES1-100, p.9). Counselors advocate change at all levels to improve the quality of life for individuals or groups, while eliminating obstacles that make it difficult to receive proper services.
My Road to Professional Nursing U of M Flint For as long as I can remember the world of medicine has been part of my life. This, along with a calling from God, is what I believe led me to become a professional nurse. As a young child I remember my father telling us about the ambulance runs and fires he was a part of as a firefighter/EMT/paramedic. I loved these discussions. I especially loved the look my dad would have on his face when he shared about how they were able to save a life, put out a fire, or be a comfort to the person injured or the family members watching and waiting.
My values will always consider patient first, for me patient’s need and interest is always my first priority, therefor altruism is greatest value for me as a part of nursing. I want to be a selfless nurse for whom patient’s priority is always first. Nurses always act as a pillar of support for the people who are sick and vulnerable, I want to be that pillar of support. My belief is that nurses are healers; I will consider myself being accountable and responsible. People trust and depend on nurses, and I will have the ability to win their trust and become their healer.
Nursing to me means to provide the best care possible to every patient you encounter on an everyday basis. A nurse must give tender loving care from his/her heart to each and every single patient. The second component of nursing practice is a patient. Patients are the priority for nurses. If it wasn’t for patients nursing would not come to exist.
