Abortion An abortion is ending a pregnancy before the unborn child is able to live outside of his/her mother. If a woman was to have an abortion before reaching twenty-four weeks is considered a miscarriage; if the woman is beyond the twenty-four weeks then she is having an abortion to deliberately end her pregnancy. Women tend to get abortions due to lack of protection, not ready to be responsible for another human being or unfortunately the woman was raped and doesn’t want to have the rapiers child. Some who believe in abortion use it as a way of birth control and the others who don’t believe in abortion find it as murdering an unborn child. Some of them are minor and disappear after a couple years because they have been either resolved or forgotten and then there are those that never seem to go away. Abortion to me is one of those issues that never seem to go away and I do not see it going away or being solved anytime soon. Abortion is a topic that no one can ever agree on. Some believe that abortion is ok while others think that it is a mortal sin and should never be done let alone be legal.
Pregnant women will get abortions because they do not like the sex of the baby or because they just don’t want a baby. At the same time, the same females will get pregnant time after time and will abort the baby because they don’t want it. There are plenty of loving families who cannot get pregnant and will adopt their babies, in most cases will even pay for all the prenatal care (http://www.adopthelp.com). Some of the pro-life supporters believe that in certain situations abortions are necessary to save a life. The law to illegalize abortion will have an exception to certain cases.
The ages of the women are from 16 to 40 years old. A lot of these women don't tell anyone that their getting an abortion because they don't want to feel ashamed for something like this. They think that their families won't supoort them in a situtation like this. So must women and young girls get an abortion on their own. There are many ways to getting an abortion done.
Saying this though, I would never ask someone who I have impregnated to get an abortion. But I can see with some people it would be the only way out. If the mother was raped or could not support the baby with any kind of a decent life then the more humane thing to do would be to get an abortion. There is the argument of if it would be better to carry out the birth and give the baby up to orphanages and adoption but the toll that would take on the mother to give up her baby after actually seeing it would be immense. We cannot judge about people who have either undergone abortions or thinking about because we do not know what kind of life they actually have and what they could be going through.
Although scientist have developed ways for a fetus to live outside the womb, many feel that until birth the fetus is not developed enough to be considered a person. How can that be true when the first twenty eight days after conception an embryo has a heartbeat. Opposers fell that if we can reduce unwanted pregnancies we could reduce the number of abortions that are given to women each year. There must be a better alternative to abortion. Most young adults do not fully understand the bible and its scriptures concerning taking a life.
Are we headed backward, toward a time when many women found it impossible to access legal abortion care? Those days of back alley abortions led to many deaths, infections and dangers that I felt we had overcome. While I would not choose an abortion for myself due to my beliefs, I feel that others should have the same right to make their OWN choice. The article doesn't give much background or history on the fight over abortion or reproductive rights yet the author never gives away which side they are on. While it is a strong factual article it could be stronger with more facts from both sides.
They believe that a child is formed at conception. However, according to medical professionals, a fetus is not considered a human being. Many people will not classify a fetus as a human being unless “quickening” (the point in a pregnancy when a woman can feel the movement of the fetus) has occurred. Fetuses are uniquely different from human beings. A fetus solely depends on a woman for survival, while a human being can operate on his own without the nurturing from a woman’s body.
