Outcome 1: understand how to plan work and be accountable to others. 1.1 Outline guidelines, procedures codes of practice relevant to personal work. There are a number of guidelines and procedures in place to enable me to do my job not only to the best of my ability but in a professional manner. Whilst on the reception area, there are procedures that need to be followed relating to various aspects of the job including correct procedures to answer the phone, use sage, filing things away, doing purchase orders etc. All the steps and guidelines for everything are kept in a PowerPoint I made that is basically a step by step tutorial on what to do for each thing.
An employee also needs to develop the capacity or the skills to perform or work. Another important aspect of performance management is to periodically rate the performance of each and every employee or team member. A good way to keep employees motivated and performing well is to reward the good performance of each employee who does well. Planning work for any organization is very important. It is very important for the work to be planned out in advance to ensure success.
It is very important to ensure that all staff members have the necessary skills and have undertaken suitable developmental activities to complete the work they are given. As a manager it is important to look over and carefully calculate the time and cost on a regular basis to make sure it’s cost effective so the organization isn’t losing money. Having regular consultations (meetings, brainstorming sessions, project groups etc.) are also highly expected from a manager as it provides prompt and constructive feedback to the employee. Which will help to suggest improvements that will increase resource efficiency and effectiveness; as employees use resources everyday to get there job done and will know what works and what doesn’t.
In this way, if you are asked what you have done at any time, you can show it to them and be accountable for your own work. 1.3 Explain the purpose and benefits of agreeing realistic targets for work The purpose for agreeing realistic targets for work is to keep everyone on task and focused on accomplishing a target that is obtainable, not out of reach. This way, everyone can contribute effectively and reach targets efficiently instead of struggling to achieve the impossible. The benefits include fast and reliable compliance and completion of tasks at hand. 1.4 Explain how to agree realistic targets 1.5 Describe ways of planning work
Weekly team meetings provide an opportunity for team members to share their progress, challenges and concerns about the project. They also provide an opportunity for redirecting project tasks and reassigning work if necessary. In addition to the issue of task reassignments, team meetings create a scheduled format for creative brainstorming and problem solving. Team effectiveness is dependent upon many things, including a shared vision of the team’s goals and objectives, and a sense of belonging. It is important that staff work as a team and give support to one another. Teams take time to work well and it’s success will depend on how well the team is managed, ground rules should be established that will ensure people can work together in most situations e.g. * Recognise that every team member, regardless of their role or status, has an essential contribution to make. * Always ask for advice and clarify anything you are not sure about. * Find out the ways decisions are reached and the team members that should be included.

Q2:- Explain the purpose of planning work and being accountable to others for your own work (1.2) Planning is essential to time management and involves organising and prioritising work. This means that if you do not plan your work properly, you will not succeed in making the best of your working day and will not achieve the best results. By taking a little time out at the beginning of your day to plan your work, you will dramatically improve your productivity and work efficiency and you will also have an ‘at-a-glance’ checklist of your tasks for the day, which you can then check off as you complete each one. This will help you monitor your own progress. A plan gives me a
How I can ensure that my work goals will fit in with the organisations is to find out what the organisations goals and plans are and then to match them to my goals and plans. I can ensure that I meet my job responsibilities is by performing at a satisfactory level or above is a particularly important way to ensure job security. Understanding my position and the goals of the organisation and how my duties are fulfilled helps me to focus on exceeding and meeting the requirements of the job. I can measure and maintain my personal performance by surveying my clients about the service they are receiving, also by defining my goals. I would prioritise my work by making a to-do list and stating which tasks are important and the ones that are not so important.

Having the prior knowledge of how to act in a professional setting will improve your interaction with them.
