There are numerous guidelines and procedures in place that enable me to do my job not only to the best of my ability but in a professional way, On the reception there are procedures that must be followed when dealing with various aspects of the role including the right procedures to greeting visitors, speaking on the phone and also many other procedures. All relevant procedures are filed away were any member of the reception staff can access them and look through them at any time. 1.2 Explain the purpose of planning work and being accountable to others for own work? Planning work is an essential thing to do on a day to day basis because it helps you manage your time in a constructive way which helps you complete the work that you have carried out. It also helps you to be organised on a day/weekly/montly/yearly basis. There are also many other solutions to help you plan work such as a to do list when writing things down it can have two purposes one you remember exactly what needs doing and secondly so that other members of staff what you have planned. 1.3 Explain the purpose and benefits of agreeing realistic targets for work? The main reason for agreeing to realistic targets for your work place is to make sure that everyone is on tasks and also focused on accomplishing a target that is obtainable which isn’t out of reach. This way everyone can work effectively and reach targets correctly instead of struggling to achieve the impossible.
