Healthy Eating Plan Comparison Padrieka Cannon SCI 241 September 18, 2010 Rochelle Helminski This assignment forced me to really look at my diet at the start of this class was bad but has gotten worst. Based on the BMI I am considered overweight. As I did the first Diet Analysis assignment I noticed that I consumed large amounts of fats and sugars. I was very disappointed in my food choices and my lack of activity. The reason I believe that my diet is so poor is my life, I do a lot of eating on the run.
Neuropathy prevented Ian seeing where his body was which is a petrifying feeling; literally Ian was “The Man who Lost His Body”. It took a year for Ian to stand up safely and six months to put on his sock, this sensory process was long and tedious. This documentary taught me how we are fortunate to have sensory abilities; most people take it for granted because it’s natural. It was unbelievable how Ian recovered from this illness. The doctors told him that he will be in the wheel chair for the rest of his life but he was determined to regain his strength and movement.
I know that if you eat too much acidic food than you can get wicked bad heart burn to the point it feels like your heart is on fire. This movie would definitely change how I eat at Mcdonalds!, no more chicken nuggets for me after I saw how they made them. Morgan had started to have very bad chest pains once he started to eat all of the Mcdonalds in one month. It was hard to believe that there were seventeen different Mcdonalds in New York City in that little town. People say that it is Mcdonalds fault for them gaining weight, but what they don’t understand is that they have the choice wether they should eat it or not, or even how much they eat.
Burgers, French fries, sodas, milkshakes, ice cream, etc are just an example of the wide menu McDonald’s has to offer the consumer making it easy for them to order a highly caloric meal. This can lead to serious health problems like Obesity, heart problems, diabetes and even different types of cancer in the long run. Obesity: According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, between 16 and 33 percent of teenagers in the United States are obese. Teenagers are considered obese when they are 20 percent or more above the normal weight for their age and height. Obesity is caused by eating more calories than the body burns.
She started a popular diet in 1981 and started losing weight dramatically enough that she starts missing her period, which makes her think she is pregnant. Memorandum: Hollywood Reporter Critical Review of the film “Super Size Me” The Film: The controversial documentary film, “Super Size Me”, released in 2004 by Morgan Spurlock, criticizes the McDonald’s corporation and the way their food impacts society. With America’s fast growing obesity rate being at an all time high, Spurlock took initiative and conducted an unscientific experiment to personally experience the effects of daily fast food consumption. For 30 days, three times a day, Spurlock consumes McDonald’s choosing to supersize his meal every time. And all without any exercise at all. Being monitored by three physicians; a general practitioner, a cardiologist, and a gastroenterologist, Spurlock kept track of how his health was being harmed each and every day to prove his point that McDonald’s, as well as every fast food restaurant, isn’t the best choice of nutritional food.
Since then, chronic pain has greatly impacted my life; the things I am able to do, the things I can no longer do, the profession I had hoped to be involved in, the one I am currently pursuing, my moods and relationships. I have always viewed myself as a person with a positive, persevering personality. I have tried to maintain this, but I must admit at times it has certainly been a struggle. After the lady drove through the stop sign, that December afternoon and our vehicles collided, I thought I would soon be back to normal. Imagine my dismay, when several months later, I was still in much pain.
I almost always look at the nutrition information for any restaurant I go to. I already eat relatively healthy but after watching this movie it helped make me more aware. D. I think that the fast food is responsible for the high rate of obesity! The fast food chain is like a drug dealer selling drugs to their customers. A couple times on and you’re
Take Gregory Rhymes for example. Recently 15 year old Gregory and his mother sued McDonalds for his extreme obesity. Weighing about 400 pounds, Gregory Rhymes would consume a burger, fries and a shake sometimes multiple times a day but claims he was not warned on how fattening the fast food can actually be. He and his mother were determined that the restaurant must be held responsible for Gregory’s current
In 2012, I went to the doctor for a normal checkup and I was told that my blood pressure was at all time high and if I don’t lose weight I will be prone to a heart attack by age 30. This doctor visit opened my eyes and I began my own journey of weight loss. After doing extensive research, I created my 90 day workout and diet plan which helped me lose 60 pounds and I never gained the weight back. A positive attitude is very important for successful weight loss and weight
