Limitless director Neil Burger has worked with the music industry directing music videos and producing commercials for MTV. Neil Burger directed the Films Interview with the Assassin in 2002, The Illusionist in 2006 and The Lucky Ones “in 2008. His most recent film to direct is Limitless in 2011 based on the novel The Dark Fields by Alan Glynn. The film Limitless is about a struggling writer named Eddie played by Bradley Cooper. Eddie takes a pill by the name NZT that allows him to access one hundred percent of his brain power. The “enhanced” Eddie as he describes himself after taking NZT, has an enormous capacity to understand anything he reads. He can understand any language and speak it. He can understand all subjects. Eddie is able to transform his life in various ways. He becomes a powerful individual by way of the NZT pill. Limitless personifies the personal success value system. Because Eddie consistently uses his brain power and new achieved power for himself and not others. It’s all about Eddie and no one else in Limitless. Obtaining wealth gives one power is displayed in Limitless. Eddie is financially broke prior to taking NZT. His girlfriend Lindy played by Abbie Cornish, pay for their meal at a restaurant as she complains to him that she is his “personal bank account” before breaking up with him. After leaving the restaurant, Eddie meets an old friend on the streets of New York that gives him the drug NZT. Eddie decides to use his new brain power to obtain wealth. Eddie previously being a struggling writer is now able to write a book in a few hours. He is now able to get paid for his manuscripts. That’s not enough for Eddie. He uses his new math skills to gamble with his money from the sale of his book to make more money. Making money gives Eddie a sense of power and he moves on to daily trading on the stock market to obtain capital for personal
