Justin Rollans Mrs. Kleine Comp 1 August 23, 2011 Life Changing Moment Losing weight was life changing for me in many ways. It was life changing in the aspect of things just being easier for me to do. When I weighed 315 pounds everyday things seemed difficult, but once I was down to 270 it was like I had a fresh start on life. This couldn’t of came at a better time because my dream ever since I was little was to be a college football player and now I have much better speed and quickness which makes me more lucrative towards colleges. Many things in my life are starting to look up now that I have lost the weight; from school to my sports all things are much better since I shed all those pounds last spring. When I started my sophomore year in football I weighed in at 320 pounds before we started two a days. I always knew I needed to lose weight so I could increase my speed but I never took the initiative to actually commit fully and do it. I mean I lost a few pounds here and there but it never really made a difference. But then my junior year we got a new coach who was had an extensive college football background. When he got here to Sheridan I knew he would be able to help me get to college if I fit the bill. I asked him one day to just evaluate me and tell me the goods and bads about me as far as a college prospect was concerned. He said the good things I had going for me was my size and my strength but the obvious bad thing about me was me being so slow and lethargic all the time. So plain and simple I had to lose weight to make it to the next level in my football career. The next step was to actually take the weight off. One of the junior high coaches hooked me up with a guy he knew that did a lot of work with high school football players. He was a personal trainer that devised a new meal plan and work out plan for me to lose the weight. The
