My opinion of NCLB is it is flawed, developmentally inappropriate, ill funded, ←and→ leaving more students, teachers, ←and→ schools behind than ever before because The tests have turned into the objective of classroom instruction rather than the measure of teaching ←and→ learning. Based on my experience, the current implication of NCLB is similar to teaching in a Korean classroom; teachers are teaching the test and the only thing that matters are the test results. Teaching to the test is the number one criticism by teachers and administrators. There is so much pressure on schools to achieve acceptable performance levels that test-taking has become a subject in itself. Everything academic revolves around the year-end state testing to the point that other subjects are usually neglected.
Confessions of an E-Dropout : Analysis V/F Student Success Seminar COUNS 20 Professor Teresa Hall September 2, 2012 In the article “Confessions of an E-Dropout” by Allison Rossett, she goes on to explain her first time experience of taking an online course. Rossett writes a journal from the first day of her class , until the day that she dropped out. I will analyze what went wrong in Rossett’s situation, if she had the characteristics of being a successful online student, along with the different strategies that could have been applied to prevent her from dropping the course. In the article, Rossett’s first mistake was forgetting her class , and already starting a day behind. Starting a class late, can not only show you that you need to work on your time managing, and schedule, but it can also start to warn you that you may not be ready for an online course.

My UCOR 101 teacher scrutinized the first paper that I wrote and he could tell it was written the night before and even referred to it as a high school paper. My first attempt at a college paper resulted in a bad grade and I knew changes had to be made for my second paper.
I took the regents for the third time in January 2011 and again, I didn’t pass. I continued taking the Algebra II Trigonometry class after school, and again took the regents in June of 2011. I passed all my other regents tests including Geometry that month and when I got my results for the Algebra II Trigonometry Regents, I started crying. I finally passed. I was so happy that I didn’t have to worry about the stress of this topic anymore.
I felt that the article was very unjust and it felt like he really had no clue to what really goes on in school. For example he states in his article that “Consider the schools. They receive more than $40 billion a year in federal aid. Despite the aid — and all the federal mandates that go with it — average school test scores have been essentially flat for decades. Federal intervention has failed to improve scores in part because the top-down rules that come with aid have squelched local innovation.” This statement is utterly false.
As a result of my own procrastination I have seen an increase in my stress, disappointed instructors, and a drop in my grades. The first effect of my procrastination is unnecessary stress. I would not be under the stress that I am, had I began working on projects as they became available to me. Having the additional stress and attempting to complete multiple projects with close deadlines, is much harder than I could have imagined. The stress and lack of time to complete each assignments has definitely affected the quality of my work.
ENGL 1010-037 12/2/13 Standardized Testing: The ACT As a second year college student, I have been forced to take many standardized tests throughout my first 12 years of school. But, none of those tests would compare to the most crucial test, the ACT (American College Testing). Obviously I had to take this test to be admitted into Tennessee Technological University, which determined everything from my scholarships to my class placements. As I was preparing for the tests, I noticed that not only did the tests fail to include knowledge I had acquired throughout my high school career, but they also did not accurately place me into the correct classes that I would need for my freshman semester here at Tennessee Tech. My main concern with the ACT is that I fear that the makers of this test are failing to measure the academic success, including the skills and intelligence levels of students around the country.
When there was anything particularly hard, I asked my teacher and reviewed with her afterschool. I ended up doing well on my dreaded physics final. Coming into freshman year, can be a bit intimidating. However, after reading The Last
