The weather outside wasn’t exactly pleasant, with the moon hidden behind the dark, terrible clouds rolling in from the north. I shivered under my thin tank top as I grabbed some frozen spaghetti bolognaise from the fridge. I warmed it up, stomach grumbling, anxious to eat. Sitting down in my favourite chair I curled up in a tight, unbreakable ball, praying that the temperature would rise. I was just getting comfortable when the phone rang. Its intense ringing vibrated my sensitive ears. Exhausted, I trudged across the hall to take the call. “Hello? The moon was blown up like a giant balloon, brightening the Sydney city. Finally, after many tunnels and freeways, we pulled up outside a night club. If you listened hard enough, you could make out the lyrics of the songs playing inside from blocks away. The essence of alcohol flooded my senses as I stepped out of the car. The walls were damp and mould of different shades plastered the concrete. Extensive lengths of cobwebs hung from the ceiling like Christmas decorations, sending shivers down my spine. Lights flickered on and off as Sam and I made our way through a corridor. Turning a corner revealed a large hall. A stage about twenty metres in length and rows of seats appeared before us. Sitting in the far bottom left of the hall was a young woman. Blonde hair was plastered to her face with sweat and blood trickled down her nose. Cuts of various depths sliced across her body and her hands were shackled to the arms of the chair. Tears spilled from my eyes as I raced towards my sister, my heart pounding. I knelt down beside her and immediately started unbuckling the shackles. Act first, ask questions later was my motto. Ava got to her feet, but fell instantly into my arms. She was weak and injured and we needed to get her to a hospital. I gestured to Sam to help me with Ava when a dark shadow loomed behind Sam and clobbered him in the head. Sam rolled down the aisle and lay beside me. I looked up and the figure started to storm towards me. I gently placed Ava in one of the seats, a safe distance away and pulled out my gun.
