The monologue that I thought best persuades, informs, entertains, explores, and expresses self is, My Angry Vagina. The woman that is speaking her mind in this monologue is obviously trying to express her feelings over how doctors and tampons treat her vagina. A quote from the text that describes the women informing and persuading people about tampons is, “Like tampons—what the hell is that? A wad of dry fucking cotton stuffed up there. Why can’t they find a way to subtly lubricate the tampon?
The temptress is a female who possess what the male desires and she uses these desires as a means to his ultimate demise. Mattie definitely has what Ethan desires. Throughout the story Ethan is constantly gazing at her beauty and encountering thoughts of her that goes against his imprisonment to Zeena. For example, Ethan said that Mattie was “more than the bright serviceable creature he had thought her. She had an eye to see and an ear to her: he could show her things and tell her things, and taste the bliss of feeling that all he imparted left long reverberations and echoes he could wake at will” (Wharton 14).
As Bar leans in to provide a long, sloppy, wet, and intense kiss the camera progressively zooms in as the interlock between Walter, the nerd aside her, and Bar intensifies. The use of sexual references tends to seduce individuals and places their mind in a state to seek lust. Through the use of attractive women dressed in a fashion that depicts their figure, Go Daddy clutches and impresses the mind of men. Go Daddy illustrates that sexy and smart are not distinctive, and in fact can work together in a peaceful and loving
After that, Levett notes that Medea takes advantage of being a female and uses that advantage to complete her plan to revenge. I agree with Levett about how Medea shows her ability by applying the feminine stereotype to persuade. As Levett argues about using "soft" words to let Creon agrees about giving Medea what she needs (59). At the first time, Medea begs Creon to not send her into exile, and Creon response "[Her] words are useless. [She] won't persuade [him]" (384).
When we first meet Curley’s wife, Steinbeck makes her appear very flirtatious and dangerously beautiful. Steinbeck does this by giving her features that are very atrocious but yet lures you such as ‘full, rouged lips’, ‘red fingernails’, and ‘red mules’. The word ‘red’ symbolises many associations with sex, lust and seduction. Another quote that would question the reader would be, ‘She’s a jailbait.’ From this quote alone, it evokes the reader of suspicion that she could be the ticket to jail as well as being an object that would foreshadow later in the book. In addition to the previous paragraph, we also know that Curley’s wife is a married woman, a possession of Curley’s.
She sticks both her little arms straight up, flips her hair, looks around full of sleepy pazazz. Then she can’t resist rubbing her hands down over her minibreasts and belly. Because, you see, it’s the godawful P. Burke who is sitting there hugging her perfect girl-body, looking at you out of delighted eyes.” P. Burke has created a desirable, sexy girl that P. Burke desires to be.
As Kleonike gets fascinated by Lysistrata’s idea, two groups of women led by Myrrhine and Lampito (Spartan) enter with Ismenia and Korinthian. After all the women are gathered, Lysistrata explains that she intends to end the war by pursuing abstinence, but Kleonike, Myrrhine, and Lampito cry out to Lysistrata that they are willing to anything except giving up sex. After a rowdy discussion, the women finally agree to Lysistrata’s plan. Lysistrata tells the women to look as beautiful as possible to attract men, but refuse to have sex with them until a peace treaty is signed. Then the women proceeds to sacrifice a jar of Thasian wine to make an oath of chastity.
But the idea of rape is ambiguous. There is the erotic and sensuous counterpoint of “her thighs caressed” ; the tension between terror and acquiescence in “terrified vague fingers”. “Loosening thighs” do not denote resistance and “white rush” connotes ecstasy in which Leda, is categorically “caught up” – the line
Whereas in the hand maids tale, the maiden has a sexual relationship with the driver Nick after listening to the commanders wife instructing her that she should become pregnant as soon as possible. This was beneficial to both women as the commanders wife wanted to be rid of the hand maid as quickly as she could, and is was also a way of the hand maiden to escape from the world she was being controlled by. Therefore the novels also use sex in different ways of control, Atwood uses it to differentiate between sterile women and unsterile women. The sterile women are dressed all in red so it shows that they are being used just as prostitutes. They are surrogate mothers giving birth to babies for the commanders wives who are unable to have children.
For example, "' Now squat,' said Angelina,' like you're going to take an enormous caca. (55)'" This is humerous because the midwife is telling Socorro to squat as f she is going to use the restroom. It relieves the mood because Socorro is in labor and she is in pain. Besides dialouge being used, simile is also implied in this context, the author is comparing a normal squat to a squat used when you go to the restroom. When the suthor uses dialouge it gives the story more of a thrill because you as the reader feel as if your experiencing that moment.
