Writing Assessment 5_06 “Why College Education is Important to Me” September 22, 2014 Call me crazy, but pursuing a college education is a long lost, almost forgotten dream of mine. There are many significant reasons why a college education has always been important to me. The Associates degree I obtained over twenty years ago helped me acquire better employment opportunities, income and benefits than I would have received otherwise. Brought up in an “old school” household, college was certainly discouraged and assumed out of the question for me because I was female. This irrational parental logic held me back for a time but did not keep me from eventually attending college on my own.
I chose Lackawanna College because I felt that the programs offered here would help as a starting point towards achieving my goal to further my education, and to eventually transfer to another college after getting a degree in Human Services at Lackawanna College. I felt that this college would fit my needs, to transfer as many of my credits as possible, to another college to get a Bachelor's Degree. Another advantage, to choosing Lackawanna College, is that the classes I am interested in are offered here. It is also close to my home since I only live just down the street. Both of these reasons help to make my going to college that much more convenient.
Pursuit of a Graduate Degree Jessica Dawson COM 516/ Professional Communication August 22, 2011 Jacob Green ABSTRACT The path that leads me to pursue a Master’s degree in adult education and training is one that I was hesitant to travel. Since childhood there was always a clear picture in my mind of how I would lead my life and contribute to my community. Unfortunately, the plans that I made for myself years ago turned out to be misguided and unsatisfying. After months of insightful introspection a light bulb went off and my new life plan was formed. The pursuit of new found personal goals lead to the University of Phoenix where I will garner the skills, contacts and confidence to succeed in my chosen career.

There was no contract at any point although there was an e-mail that existed outlining the terms there were not any signed confirmation binding a contract. The initial negotiation deal states that there would not be any distribution agreement/contracts if it was not in writing and signed by both parties.
I try looking for a job first to take care of my daughter and pay for my finances but that wasn’t successful. I needed to have a high school degree and a few years’ experience. It was a few days before I contacted Student Services at a nearby school and enrolled immediately. My journey has just begun and I never knew the road to success could be so difficult. I had many sleepless nights and so many assignments I thought I would never finish.
I dropped out of school when I had my first child and I didn’t get my high school diploma until I had my 3th child. I was very determined to at least get my high school diploma that was a successful day when I received my High School Diploma. My next challenge was to go to college staying focused. I’ve been part of activities and would stop right in the middle, only because either it wasn’t interesting or I would get frustrated. But I came to find out that it was not a great idea to start something and not finish, only because it would start to become a habit and your life would always be flip flop, plus it wasn’t a good example.
My Reflection of Speech 100: Foundations of Oral Communications University of Maryland University College SPCH100/ Spring 2015 Semester Professor Ennis Allen Submitted: May 8, 2015 My Reflections: Foundations of Oral Communications It seems like yesterday that day 1 of Speech 100 class started. My how time goes by to so fast. I choose to take this course for several of reasons. The first being, it was required for my core course requirements for my major in Public Safety Administration. Although I could have taken other courses that fell under speech, I chose this one because I thought it to be more beneficial in my personal and career development, which comes to my second reason.
Here I am today almost ten years later after dropping out pursing a college degree. I have learned from life experiences that a diploma can get you but so far. College is my key to making something of my life. Finding better opportunities through having an education that I never thought I would be cut out for after my high school experience. The college experience opens all types of doors in your mind and in the world.
Why College Education is Important to Me These days, a college degree is not optional if a person wishes to excel in the business world. Many employers will not even consider an applicant without a bachelor’s degree. Obtaining a college degree can provide a higher income, self-fulfillment, and more long-term opportunities. Although I agree with the reasons above, I have additional reasons I feel that a college degree is important to me. First, I hope to provide inspiration to my daughter.
