It made me think that Boo Radley might not be bad. Maybe he was trying to be good but he didn’t know how, because after almost 20 years of not being nice, (actually of not being anything at all) tis hard to suddenly be nice to someone else. Kids are highly influential especially at a young age. A child who sees a father abusing his mother might grow up and find it acceptable to beat on his own wife and kids, alas the cycle continues. Society also play a very big part in this, we now see and accept divorce and broken families as a new normal. Since many fathers generally are not the major caretakers of their kids after a divorce, bad feeling are formed with the kids. These negative feelings are due to dads not regularly seeing and interacting with their kids.
Developing a Thesis Statement ENG/102 Developing a Thesis Statement Many people are convinced that their child’s autism was caused by immunizations, although there is no real evidence that supports this theory. This belief has led to a dangerous trend that has been driven by false data, and the media. Unfortunately this has led to outbreaks in preventable diseases and poses a danger to others. Refusing to immunize not only causes a health risk for the child that is not vaccinated, but to the rest of the community as well, particularly very young children who have yet to be immunized, and the elderly. Immunizations are not the cause of rising cases of autism, and in fact, not immunizing has caused outbreaks of certain other diseases.
There is no known fact to answer this question because there have been many kids that have been abused physically, mentally, and sexually by his or her parents but they did not grow up to be serial killers. According to Joel Norris, he states that, “Parents who abuse their children, physically as well as psychology instill in them an almost instinctive reliance upon violence as a first resort to any challenge.” (Norris, 1989) In some cases parents believe that if they discipline their children it will make them tougher when they grow up. Often sometimes children don’t see that when they are being disciplined it makes a child start to lack love for their parents and it makes the child go out and do things like setting fires, misbehaving in school and the need to torture animals to release the anger they have built up inside of them from the hurt that their parents have called all because they wanted to discipline their child (Norris, 1989). When a child torture or kill an animal does that automatically mean that the child will grow up to become a serial killer? Or is it the only way a child can release all the hatred and angry that they are suppressing from being abused by their parents?
Bullying is such a big subject now because it happens to everyone. Our principal at North said “It isn’t bullying until it happens twice.” But that’s not always the problem. Sometimes a person can say one thing to you, and it can ruin your entire day, week, or even month. I don’t understand why people bully each other, maybe because they’re so insecure about their self they need to bring others down with them. Maybe they don’t get enough attention at their house, or maybe they want friends but they can only show their mean side because they are actually scared of getting hurt themselves.
Because we are only human, we tend to make mistakes more often than not, and because we make those mistakes, it is hardly impossible to argue that humans are good. From a very young age, our parents work hard to teach us to share our toys and to play nice with our peers, but what some don’t realize is that if our parents weren’t around to teach us that, we would never learn, and eventually grow up to be unapologetically bad. This is because it is part of human nature to keep the best for ourselves, and to keep others away from what we feel is ours. Humans are not born with the ability to want to automatically share what is theirs, and this only adds to my point of view that much more. Cabrales 2 The only reason that the world is able to function correctly, the way it has for an extremely long time, is because of the laws that have come to surface in order to keep us in line.
This method is wrong because it had bad consequences. Parents can use the correct method of education when the child baby. Many parents never learned from their own childhood that there are positive ways of relating to children. For example when punishment does not accomplish the desired goals, and if the parent is unaware of alternative methods, punishment can escalate to more frequent and dangerous actions against the child. Parents believe that beating is a means of discipline and kind of education.
This idea can be seen through Atticus Finch extremely well. He grew up in an overly prejudice time, yet all he tries to do is help people, and tries to teach his children to do the same thing. For instance, on page 30, he is trying to teach Scout not to judge people because she didn’t always know the other person view of things, or their side of the story. “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” -Atticus Finch. Even with her Father’s prompting she doesn’t seem to understand, as she clearly has prejudice towards people like the Ewells and Cuninghams just for being poor, or different than her.
Youth of this generation is different from the generation of our parents. A lot of articles say that it’s what you called the “Generation Gap” wherein parents and their children can’t understand each other because of the new things in the world that sometimes parents scolds their children. They sometimes have misunderstanding and sometimes children end up as rebels because their wants and desires are deprived. The technology and other forms of media are useful but if you overused, it would end up to a terrible situation that you won’t expect.
