I did not know what to expect going into the musical but the cast made it really entertaining. I would recommend it to a friend. If someone hasn’t seen a musical comedy, I would definitely recommend it to them. Was the play appropriate for both the actors and the audience? Yes, the play was appropriate for both the actors and the audience.
Reaction to our respective characters: I was given the role of Cheswick in the play “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.” We openly stated what personality of character we would prefer to play, and subsequently read through as a group the extract of the script we had been given. I had said that I view myself good at acting eccentric individuals and enjoy portraying my character in colourful events. “Cheswick” fitted this description almost perfectly. I believe he is a fun character to play, and even though he isn’t among the main characters, he is quite important in linking conversations and also providing a colourful break in a piece of conversation if it seems to drag on a bit. We realised there were more characters in the extract than people in our group, so when designating specific roles to the different members of the group, one person was given the task of playing two characters, whom very often had lines one after the other.
Wicked has had countless nights of sold out shows viewed all across the globe. It is a powerful show and available to view all across the United States. The Wicked Tour is providing those who are not close to the sit down production in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City, a chance to see this great show for themselves. Wicked is not available on any type of video format. It is still, after five years, a wildly popular show and is strict on videotaping and audiotaping in the theatrical performance venues.
It must be hard to remember what character you are playing at a certain time. The two other actors were also very good because they always stayed in their part and wholeheartedly made their part real. I felt that they also fed off of the audience very well. The actors and actress were excellent in this play. The set design and scenic elements in this play were very well done and well developed.
It was an interesting interruption of the play as it was not how I would have pictured it but it made the audience see the set in a different perspective. J.S Priestley would be proud to see it. The cast were very well preformed and were so professional about the whole thing. The inspector was played by Tom Mannion, he has a Scottish accent which put me off a little because I never thought the inspector was from Scotland but in the play, it never told you where he was born so it was significant. At the end of investigation Mannion did perform the final speech very well, drawing the attention of the audience in to the most important line ‘We don't live alone.
This is theatre, we are swept into the scene, our emotions caught up in what is about to happen. That is why Bernini's David so typifies the Baroque style. It has all the elements which are the hallmarks of the Baroque, movement, drama, emotional response, vigor and physical presence. Its theatricality is climactic as Bernini's 'figures are caught in a transient moment from a single viewpoint, bursting into the spectator's space'.1 The other sculptures of David from Donatello, Verricchio and Michelangelo hark from the Renaissance period. Donatello's David was inspired by his study of Greek and Roman sculpture.
God of Carnage was a great play. The use of colors to symbolize the power struggle, the art deco furniture and the symbolism behind clothes were brilliant decisions towards enhancing the whole morale of the play. The characters did a wonderful job of setting the mood and atmosphere and capturing the whole ‘I’m better than you’ idea. The play not only helped the audience see how people actually act today but, without the audience knowing, made you more aware of your surroundings and how to analyze them; a tool that will come in handy in all aspects of anyone’s
The proscenium theatre that hosted the play provided an elaborate sound forum and view of each of the intricate scenes of the play. I personally felt engaged in the unfolding of the play’s essential story. When the musical Rent first appeared off Broadway in 1996, it instantaneously became a hit.
Throughout my life I have hit some emotional lows, but I can always rise above that on stage. Theatre and comedy are alive in me, and that gives me strength. Theater is a huge part of my life. The University of Michigan is a place that will help me enhance my passion with its broad education techniques to fit my needs, and also its outstanding record in theater and dramatic arts. This school is the school for me, and it possess so many of the qualities I desire in liberal arts.
Using the wiki to do all of our brainstorming, setting goals as well as discussing all relevant details of our assessment is what led our group to success. Our groups success can also be attributed to the fact we relied on everyone's strengths. We had clear intentions from the very start, on 11/8/14 Krystle and Bernadette took the time to form a timetable outlining when we wanted to have goals achieved which was still flexible and easy to achieve. On the 16/8/14 I bought up different aspects of our presentation which needed to be completed as well as actual adding of our individual information. From here as a group each of us put which part we would like to take on there was an equal distribution of work.
