I hold monthly team meetings, staff have six formal supervisions over a twelve month period which are scheduled to take place on alternate months, and they then also have their yearly appraisal. I type the items which I want to raise prior to the supervision to ensure that everything is raised as required and will then add to this throughout the supervision, two copies would then be printed and signed by both myself and the member of staff. I listen to staff concerns and give advice and / or guidance where needed as part of the process, I speak with them about any progression that they make and then ensure that I set SMART objectives at the end of the supervision. Active communication with staff occurs on a daily basis when they may contact me for guidance / advice, to communicate something that has happened within the service or to make me aware of an incident / accident. This requires actively listening to the staff and giving them the feedback they need, whether this be immediate or within a set time scale.
The administrator must weigh the decision of acting as a financial advocate and refusing the patient, or providing care at a monetary loss. This conflict can often times be overwhelming and lead to a decrease in productivity. Finding balance is key to the members of the administrative group. Adminstrators are required to be disciplined, yet compassionate, so administrators need to determine which ares require strict discipline, and which require compassion. This group should allocate some funds for those who cannot pay, that way they are able to treat patients without incurring financial loss.
While at the distribution centers and stores, the auditor is likely to focus on testing inventory in the secure areas. | Due to the high cost and demand for medicines, there is a risk of theft of inventory both at the distribution centers and stores. Additionally, because some medicines have expiration dates, there is a risk of obsolete inventory. It will be difficult for auditors to identify specific types of medicines since their differences are not visually noticeable but rather dependent on differences in compounds and chemicals. Furthermore, the large number of products, with wide variations in unit costs, could lead to inaccurate amounts.
Discuss. Operations management focuses on managing the production and delivery of an organization’s products or services more effectively. It is concerned with work scheduling, production planning, facilities location and design, and optimum inventory levels. Boeing has been conducting four-hour-long monthly and quarterly assessments of one of its supplier’s ability to speed up production, along with annual reviews that can take 2-3 days. Consistent with management science, Boeing is focusing on the “numbers”, even at the supplier level.
On Monday, September 6, 2010, I began my first day observing patients in an emergency department. My goal was to observe interaction between the patients and the hospital staff, especially in pediatrics. I chose a local hospital at which I had been employed and observed some of my co-workers patients. I did this on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00-5:45 pm for three weeks. My thought was that hospital staff tends to interact more with pediatric patients than adults.
There are several important reasons why patient confidentiality should be respected. First, breaching a patient’s confidentiality destroys trust, which is an important aspect in physician-patient relationships. Second, if this trust is breached, patients may have a difficult time trusting doctors and disclosing pertinent information in the future. Lastly, betraying a patient’s trust this way is in direct opposition to that individual’s right for autonomy. There are many instances on a daily basis where patients’ medical data must be disclosed.
Difficulties in measuring health It is always important to quote the source of the data, when referring to statistics and should be treated with caution. Moreover, they should be collected from official sources may not offer an accurate picture of patterns of health and illness. For instance, some people may visit the doctor even though they may not be very ill, and on the other hand some people who are actually ill may not visit the doctors. There are the same symptoms for different diagnosis, so therefore doctors may give a different diagnosis than what you actually have. Ken Browne (2006) provided a useful framework to explain this problem.
Jerry was accused of a medical malpractice because of prescribing a refill without the authorization of a physician. There were many legal and ethical issues that affected the decision Jerry made in ordering the prescription refill, and the knowledge of right and wrong deterred Jerry from deciding to refill the prescription. There are several methods and types of values at hand that Jerry could have used to help him make an ethical decision. Determining the appropriate course to take when faced with a difficult ethical dilemma can be a challenge, but it is always important to engage in a carefully considered ethical decision-making. Everyday health care workers around the world are faced with tough decisions.
Accuracy is 100% essential for this type of document. A miss-spelt medical word or incorrect name can change the whole meaning someone's medical results and this could have major implications for the person and the company. Therefore checking of this type of document requires extra care and normally is checked by another person before being distributed. MINUTES Will include the title of the meeting, the date it was held, the names of the people who attended and were absent i.e. apologies, The main issues discussed will then be listed and what action needs to take place.
There are three reasons proper chart documentations are important: to avoid lawsuits, keep accurate medical information for patient, and to maintain proper communication from one professional to another. Avoiding Malpractice Suits People sue for a lot of reasons today, and one of them just happens to be improper charting that causes errors. Attorneys on the plaintiff side gather every chart and record that was made during the time in question. The proper chart documentation can either be the nail in the coffin for a case, or the factor that decides wrong doing and monetary compensation. It is imperative that documentation is done thoroughly and properly every time data is recorded.
